There was an eco-green style I was using that disappeared when I upgraded. Who ever created that was very talented.
Where is the list of styles for us to download individually? Photos next to them would be awesome, too.
I am not sure how to save the styles I like now – to backup just in case. Can we also remove those we hate or those we think are unreadable or broken? How?

On antix19, I typed “locate eco-green” and found that these are icewm themes…. and using one of the related files typed
        “dpkg -S /usr/share/icewm/themes/eco-green-medium/titleAB.xpm”
to learn the files are installed by package “icewm-themes-antix”

You can download http://repo.antixlinux.com/buster/pool/main/i/icewm-themes-antix/icewm-themes-antix_0.3.5.tar.xz and extract the eco-green theme files and other desired theme files. Look in “/usr/share/icewm/themes/” to see how files for the themes are placed.

Sure, can remove using sudo at commandline or using a sudo privileged file manager launched with gksu.

as example, “sudo rm -rf /usr/share/icewm/themes/AntiX-Red-Medium” would remove the files for that particular theme. [[[future reinstall or upgrade of the package will restore the files however]]] Logout, or change to a different window manager then back to icewm….. and you will discover the deleted theme is no longer available for selection from the Settings menu

Not necessary to make another job to specially backup just theme files. Just perform regular full system backups [[[generate snapshot.iso for example]]] then you can later mount the iso and use its contents to selectively restore selected theme files or whatever files

There is a place….. but if I tell you the place, that’s not gonna put me on the hook for explaining how to install the individually downloaded themes. Installation instructions can be found in a web search

over 400 individually downloadable icewm themes, screenshots shown for each

Why not just use Synaptic Package manager to Search for and install ALL of the antiX IceWM theme packages and try each of them for a few minutes to see which ones you like and make a list of the good ones?

They don’t take up much space, so just leave them installed and don’t worry about it.

If you don’t find anything you like in the repos, then try ones you find on the web.
