PPC,
Whats the point of Electron player? Since its electron based, how is it any different from watching in Chrome? As always, interested in your tips for getting more mileage out of old hardware.

::Hi popire, welcome to the forum !

it shouldn’t. From which source did you download it? Might a dmo version (deb multimedia.org)?

::Thanks caprea,
I stand corrected.
just did a simulated install,
quite possibly was a Debian DMO version.Since then clean installed latest antiX as sid version.

This is a bit off topic, but, since I mentioned this in the first place:simply put, E.P. works wonders, playing YouTube, Netflix and Amazon prime videos on my old single core netbook- a friend of mine tested that for me – it works almost flawlessly, which Chromium can’t – it stutters a lot, on DRM videos, on this old device- on more recent PCs, probably you won’t notice any difference.
Also on the security side: having a dedicated browser to stream DRM video means that you do not have to install DRM in Chromium based browsers or Firefox- reducing vunerabilities in your main browser.
Also on the ease of use- if you setup a .desktop file for E.P.- a user without any computer knowlege (ex: a young kid, only used to mobile devices) can click it’s entry, then click the intended Video Service and it starts playing instantly (of course, after first setting up user accounts, for DRMed services- you can access youtube for free using it, without setting up any account- it’s not add free, like SMtube, but it’s the same user experience as most people are used to, on mobile devices – setting YT to use 360p should ensure smooth video player on almost any still working computer)P.
