Hi, I’m trying to install 19.2 on a mac Intel Core duo machine. The install hangs at “waiting to fully populate /dev.” Do you know what I’m doing wrong? Thank you, —Rob

          Thanks!

P.S. I tried installing MX Linux also (which runs on my 2007 iMac) but same issue.

To avoid any misunderstanding, which version of antiX do you try to install, base or core ?
Am I right that not the installation hangs but already the booting from usb is a problem ?
Have you tried any of the additional boot options?
And last not least, did you check the mdm5sum of the download or usb ?

Regarding the stall at /dev, it happens with MX Linux, antiX base, and antiX full. These were from USB. I will try DVD later today.

I have not tried other ‘boot options,’ but I welcome any suggestions.

I did not check the MDM5dsum because I downloaded the ISOs by torrent, and my understanding is that it self-checks.

                Thanks!

I could not determine the precise issue. I think one or both of a) formatting a good swap partition and b) using a light iso like ‘base’ are advantageous. Also possibly installing via CD instead of USB. I recently successfully installed antix 22 on the same computer. Took a number of tries; didn’t keep notes 🙁
