I’ve just installed antiX-21_x64-full Grup Yorum 31 October 2021. I’ve installed deadbeef using the package manager, but it won’t run. When I try from the command line, I get “starting deadbeef 1.8.8” and that’s all. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the command line, but that didn’t work either.
When I tried to install deadbeef-gtk3 I got a “broken pipe” error:$ sudo apt install deadbeef-gtk3 Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done The following NEW packages will be installed: deadbeef-gtk3 0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. 1 not fully installed or removed. Need to get 0 B/310 kB of archives. After this operation, 1,234 kB of additional disk space will be used. (Reading database ... 181916 files and directories currently installed.) This computer is a real dinosaur, but I did get it to run using Debian 10 (Bunsenlabs Lithium). Can somebody please help? Details below… thanks!

::I forgot to mention that deleting the file /var/cache/apt/archives/deadbeef-gtk3_1.8.2-1~mx19+1_amd64.deb before doing an install didn’t help.

dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/deadbeef-gtk3_1.8.2-1~mx19+1_amd64.deb
Why commandline install?
deadbeef is installable via packageinstaller, right? That […~mx19…] package was intended for installation on a antiX/MXLinux 19 (debian10 -based) system.
If you must (or want to) manually retrieve a suitable debfile, visit the following page (contains clickable debfile hyperlinks)
Download for 32 bit here: deadbeef_1.8.4-1~mx21_i386.deb
Download for 64 bit here: deadbeef_1.8.4-1~mx21_amd64.debFWIW, as recently as Jan 22, 2022… others have posted to report successfully using deadbeef in antiX21

::I did a command-line install because the package installer didn’t work. But thanks for the link. I’ll give it a try. I guess I could also try to install it from debian-multimedia.
