      I’ve just installed antiX-21_x64-full Grup Yorum 31 October 2021. I’ve installed deadbeef using the package manager, but it won’t run. When I try from the command line, I get “starting deadbeef 1.8.8” and that’s all. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the command line, but that didn’t work either.
      When I tried to install deadbeef-gtk3 I got a “broken pipe” error:

      $ sudo apt install deadbeef-gtk3

      The following NEW packages will be installed:

      I successfully installed deadbeef-gtk2, but, as I mentioned, nothing happens when I try to run it.
      This computer is a real dinosaur, but I did get it to run using Debian 10 (Bunsenlabs Lithium).

      Can somebody please help? Details below… thanks!

        I forgot to mention that deleting the file /var/cache/apt/archives/deadbeef-gtk3_1.8.2-1~mx19+1_amd64.deb before doing an install didn’t help.

          I’ve just installed antiX-21_x64-full

          [..]

          dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/deadbeef-gtk3_1.8.2-1~mx19+1_amd64.deb

          Why commandline install?
          deadbeef is installable via packageinstaller, right?

          That […~mx19…] package was intended for installation on a antiX/MXLinux 19 (debian10 -based) system.

          If you must (or want to) manually retrieve a suitable debfile, visit the following page (contains clickable debfile hyperlinks)

          FWIW, as recently as Jan 22, 2022… others have posted to report successfully using deadbeef in antiX21

            I did a command-line install because the package installer didn’t work. But thanks for the link. I’ll give it a try. I guess I could also try to install it from debian-multimedia.

              That did the trick! Thanks for your help.
