      Just have a question about the startup service screen. What do the numbers mean at the top of the screen. ?
      S is start but why are their X in the numbers boxes. I run mpd with ncmpcpp which by the way works fine, but 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 are marked with X but not S.
      Is it like a time delay or something as their is always a delay in mpd service starting . Can not fined anything about this..
      service 1 2 3 4 5 0 6 S

        I’m not familiar with “ncmpcpp”
        but it sounds like you are referring to “runlevels”, described here: https://wiki.debian.org/RunLevel

        $ sudo sysv-rc-conf

        Via the sysv-rc-conf interface, you can view and (re)configure which services (daemons) are slated to autostart each time the system enters a (each) given runlevel.
        tip: individual changes [X] are saved immediately; when finished, press Q to quit the sysv-rc-conf program

        $ runlevel

        This command will display the current system runlevel
