::This would mean that the infection-fatality ratio (IFR) of Covid19 has potentially been substantially overestimated and that it actually falls in line with seasonal influenza. (which many experts have previously suggested, and other studies have found).
This virus ISN’T the most deadly, far from it. But it IS one of the most contagious. The problem ISN’T how deadly it is, but that so many people get it that it collapses the hospitals. Medics have so many cases they cannot attend to people with other problems (these patients get worse or die) and they don’t have enough respirators for people with severe respiratory problems (they die because they cannot breathe). And because STUPID people of the government aren’t ready and don’t know how to handle emergencies, they cannot provide enough protection for medical personnel, so these people who are trying to help the patients also get ill (and cannot help anyone –> more people get worse or die).
A look at the overall death statistics shows flat lines with fluctuations within its natural range. Even in Italy, there has not yet been a higher number of deaths than usual in the past couple of months. In absolute numbers, the death count is actually slightly down because of the seasonal factor that wintertime is over.

As said before, the problem isn’t the virus mortality or total mortality, but the concentration of infected. Because the virus is so contagious, a lot of people get it at the same time. If we don’t limit human contact by distancing, propagation of the virus will be too fast. People who would normally NOT get the flu, DO get COVID-19 way “easier”.
If the flu was as easy to get as COVID-19, x10 more people would die each year and ALL hospitals would be so collapsed that ALL societies would change their human interactions, never kissing, never handshaking, always wearing masks when going out. This lockdown is to prevent infections, as people cannot easily switch (temporarily) to a “no touch” society. Once the virus dies (for good), or vaccines are created to get us immune to it, then we won’t be at risk to get infected/infect others. If this lockdown is forced to stop prematurely because “the economy”, we will not be able to get rid of the virus and the infection will continue. Once a city has no more infected or all infected have been localized and are quarantined and treated, then we can open the doors again, as risk of infection will be waaaaaay lower. Isn’t this logical?
So you admit that you have an anger management problem? Might I suggest seeing a psychiatrist for help with your problems? This is just a forum for help with antiX OS and I fear that we are not qualified to be of assistance.
You are right. I may have used a very strong word, as hate. When something displeases us, most people will feel emotions of contempt, disgust, anger or even rage, depending on how much of an influence it has on us. It is a natural reaction. It is up to us how we act with this emotion and how we manage it. True.
I wasn’t personally attacking you, but the message post did irritate me, so I went to find if it was true. I have many gullible family members who fall for fake news because they think that the opinion they read is a fact. They spread that “news” to others and unnecessary hate for people they don’t even know is born. They direct their anger to something/someone that may be totally innocent, or that doesn’t really affect the world in such a manner.
When we direct our anger to others, or to things we cannot change, we get irritated, as we feel impotent to change the outside world. If this problem is real, we could direct our energy to change it if many come together, but first we should figure out if this anger is misguided.
When we direct our anger to ourselves, seeing something we don’t like about our thoughts or behaviors, we have the chance to CHANGE it. We don’t need permission from any authority. We can act on ourselves, so we can transform said anger into energy for change.Off course, this is only my opinion.
Sorry everyone for insisting in going off topic. I will stop now.

::I am curious… since the word “racist” is being thrown out there…. have the infections and deaths been broken up by race yet? As some “races” can be naturally more resistant or not, to certain medical issues, it would be interesting to know.

My response…… No worries Xecure…. I wouldnt call it off topic so speak, that response i quoted above, is an example of, we are human and communicating.
And I do like reading the posts from you as well as VW. They actually compliment, or balance, each other. I’m not much of a wordsmith as far as wording what I want to say.

::The mayor of London Sadiq Khan, urges the government to act promptly in studying the demographics of those affected by Covid-19, so there is greater understanding of why BAME communities are being disproportionately affected.
“At the moment, we know the age and sex of everyone who contracts and tragically dies from the corona virus, (only those Tested) but we still have little additional reliable information, including about their ethnicity,” he writes.
In a latest survey
65.5% patients were white, 11.2% black, 14.9% were Asian and 6.9% were described as other.
This is despite black and Asian people making up 10.8% of the UK population, according to the 2011 census. So clear information is not available. And Racism is in my personal experience rife in the May creation, Hostile UK.
My guessing is that majority of BAME death cases are unlikely to be British born, or born in UK but not recognised as citizens while agreeing that BAME are often the less privileged part of the populace. I would though include many others and add that the rest of England Wales NI and Scotland is just as badly off regarding working conditions and poverty. Much of the housing is absolutely disgusting, schools falling apart for lack of funds.

Yes indeed and yet every single day he allows Londoners to travel packed together like sardines on the London underground. He sure does indeed talk a lot, rather like most politicians.

Actually, there is a purely scientific reason for that which you would know if, while studying Earth Science at university level, you knew anything about why people have different colour skins.
I’ll give you a clue – my Asian wife died riddled with cancer. She had lived in the UK since 1967. Do you know that whenever the sun shone brightly, like so many other non-white women, she would wear a full length dress? Why do you think they do that anti? And what is the reason people have different coloured skin? Have you ever even bothered trying to find out?
Oh and a further little tit-bit of information for you, blue eyes first evolved in what is now Iran. I wonder why?
Come on anti, go do some searching.
LOL

… and what has that to do with what I said? How do you jump to the conclusion that I am a bigot? (I am certainly not).
Are you pissed off because the articles/evidence doesn’t include all ethnic minorities living in the UK?
Have you misunderstood my point? ie racist society is the issue why bame-groups are more at risk.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/07/bame-groups-hit-harder-covid-19-than-white-people-uk

One of the best sources of information I’ve found about covid-19 (from way before it got that name) is Dr. John Campbell (not a medical doctor but a nurse with a PhD). Both he and the MedCram channel (another great source of information) have been stressing the importance of vitamin D to combat respiratory infections. Dr. Campbell has posited a number of times that the racial differences in deaths rates could be at least partially caused by lack of vitamin D in people with darker skin. This agrees with the article VW linked to.
I got a terrible chest infection back in December, worse than my usual. I tried to figure out what I was doing differently and I realized I had stopped taking vitamin D. A quick web search showed me the connection of vitamin D to chest infections and I started taking it again. IMO there is probably a genetic component and a social component causing the difference in death rates. It would be a crying shame if vitamin D supplements were not tried on coid-19 patients, especially those with darker skin or who do not get outside often.
There is a wealth of compelling information about covid-19 that does not seem to be getting disseminated properly. The vitamin D link is one example. Another is there are at least two different strains of covid-19 and people sick with one of the strains do not respond well to ventilators. I had been following Dr. John Campbell and MedCram for months. Eventually this became extremely frustrating because there was such a large disconnect between what I was learning from those channels (usually information backed up by very credible scientific sources) and what our leaders and even the media were saying.
For example, on March 12 the UK announced a disastrous covid-19 plan that was full of lies and nonsense. Here their chief medical advisor says says he wants people to get the virus to increase herd immunity. I do not know why the UK leadership chose such disastrous and deceitful plans when the correct course of action to minimize the damage was well known. I was livid when I heard the UK plan announced on the 12th. Now in hindsight, it’s utter stupidity (and deceitfulness) is clear to most people.

::The death rate has remained relatively constant because of the social distancing steps undertaken. Those high figures of death rates relate to if governments did NOTHING. So a red-herring.
The death rate in the UK has gone up significantly. This was covered by Dr. John Campbell recently, probably within the past week. IIRC, there were 6,000 more deaths in March compared to an average of March deaths in the previous 5 years. Only about 3,000 of the excess had been attributed to covid-19. This indicates that, just like in China, the deaths due to covid-19 in the UK (and elsewhere) will have to be revised upward significantly.
Also, Taiwan is a good example of government action overcoming dire epidemic forecasts. Taiwan was predicted to be one of the worst hit countries but due to rapid and effective measures by their government they’ve had only 422 cases which on a per capita basis is 1/3 that reported by China and less than 1% of the per capita rate in the US. Yet on February 15, Taiwan had more cases than the US. Prompt, effective action by governments can stop this virus in its tracks. Lies, bluster, and stupidity do not work.

What did the USA Lab do which was closed in a rush last year ?. It is plausible they may have been working on virus building.

::@Bitjam, thanks, your link to VitD reminds me of my terrible infection early this year, I think it was not Covid but it did teach me some lessons.
I found myself to be low on Iron, took Vit D Magnesium Calcium Complex which I add to my Milk. Milk made from Nuts and on occasion Rice or Oats.
Iron deficiency made me very short of breath, get heart Palpitations too, as gave me symptoms similar to dementia.I am lucky in that I live in a small town, have a Garden, can go walking or mountainbiking in the forest, for those forced to Isolate in crowded conditions without sunlight there are many implications. We need sunlight and movement to stay healthy, and retain a reasonable mental state, nourishing food is also really important. A diet of Industrial crap is not at all sustaining. No light leads to depression and other mental disorders, policy in many country’s disregards that fact entirely.
I am changing my diet a lot at present, I am not a meat eater, have not been for years. Baked my first real sourdough breads from freshly ground partly pre sprouted ancient grain during last couple of weeks. No more bloated feeling, tastes great. Cows milk produce is only a tiny part of my daily diet. No more bad smell in the bathroom.
Maybe start a what did you eat today thread. We are after all like an extended family so spreading experience seems legitimate.
