Hello!
Starting synaptic from main menu does nothing. In the ~/.fluxbox/menu-applications file, Synaptic looks like
[exec] (Synaptic Package Manager) {synaptic-pkexec} </usr/share/icons/papirus-antix/48x48/apps/synaptic.png>
In ~/.jwm/menu-applications file, Synaptic looks like
<Program label="Synaptic Package Manager" icon="/usr/share/icons/papirus-antix/48x48/apps/synaptic.png">synaptic-pkexec</Program>
Runningsudo synapticorsynaptic-pkexecfrom terminal works fine.Any idea what might be causing this?
Thanks.- This topic was modified 3 years ago by betman.

::Seems like the antiX repo (mirror) isn’t reliable.
Use repo-manager to choose another one.
sudo apt purge synapticbefore installing it again
sudo apt update && sudo apt install synapticPhilosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

::OK. So, I didn’t remove the earlier one (saw your explanation only afterwards). I just changed repo and updated and upgraded. New synaptic version:0.90+antix2. Also, it is launching from main menu.
Thanks.
BTW, would it be necessary to remove synaptic and reinstall?April 30, 2020 at 12:32 pm #35470Memberbetman
::UPDATE: updated to synaptic (0.90+antix3). Seems like la.mxrepo.com is the reliable one.

::OK.
BTW, would it be necessary to remove synaptic and reinstall?Just to remove the old desktop file that uses pkexec, but maybe it wasn’t necessary after all.
