SysVinit 3.05 released

Last night (I’m on UTC -3) SysVinit version 3.05 was released. Below is the release note:

“This release (3.05) focuses on two things:

1- Updating the translation framework.
2- Fixing compiling issues on various systems.

The second point, compiling, encompasses a few minor changes to get SysV init to build properly on GNU Hurd, systems without certain GNU assumptions, and systems running the latest glibc library (2.36 at time of writing).”

This release is very important for people who don’t like SystemD, as it shows that SysVinit is still under active development and is still “working”.

Ontem a noite (estou no UTC -3) foi lançada a versão 3.05 do SysVinit. Segue abaixo a nota de lançamento:

“Esta versão (3.05) se concentra em duas coisas:

1- Atualizando a estrutura de tradução.
2- Corrigindo problemas de compilação em vários sistemas.

O segundo ponto, compilar, engloba algumas pequenas alterações para fazer com que o SysV init seja construído corretamente no GNU Hurd, sistemas sem certas suposições GNU e sistemas executando a biblioteca glibc mais recente (2.36 no momento da redação).”

Esse release é de suma importância para as pessoas que não gostam do SystemD, pois mostra que o SysVinit ainda está com o desenvolvimento ativo e que ainda está “funcional”.
