::Thanks Moddit. My only guess is that there is some incompatibilities between old accesspoint configuration file between connman versions.
In cmst, if you select the problematic access point in “Wireless” tab and click the “Remove” (not connect) button, then it should remove the old connection information. If you select to connect again to said access point, it should have forgotten the old configuration and you need to write everything new again. See if this helps.
Does your password contain any special character (like /\|?~$ etc)? If it does, then maybe this is a regression. I will check if there is any issue reported in the connman project.
EDIT: If you have spaces or special characters in the wireless SSID or password, please list the special characters so I can experiment my self with this and see f there is a workaround.

::Does your password contain any special character (like /\|?~$ etc)?
Yes of course, plenty, it is intended to be reasonably difficult to guess or crack
so generated. I did try using the remove button, was still unable to get further.Anyway will install the released version of antix21 tomorrow, see what happens
when I try and connect. I will definitely not weaken my passwd. As there are many changes I am unsure about trying to update from 19.4, another
reason is a reinstall of new version is way faster and no remnant config files left
behind, that so often causes problems..October 31, 2021 at 6:08 pm #69854Member

::Give me a list of characters for me to test. I will test and see if I can find a workaround or if I am lucky a patch.

::Hi xecure, sorry took a while, have to plug new version with a nice custom setup.
%p:,_=-?\:*+&$!();]/~ my wifi password includesI install and use PW gen to create a reasonably long password, want to keep my very not nice neighbour out of our
network.Would use something like below, then chose 1 from the list
I do not know a way to exclude certain charachters, in any case that would weaken a password.$ pwgen -s 42 10 -11 -y

this one is probably a problem because of the \n character that means “new line”
anything with “\” or “$” may be a problem. Once I have time I will test some out.antiX Live system enthusiast.

::Thanks xecure, busy too,
Changing passwords on my cable router is a pain, can not use same twice, means no going back to where all our
devices work.
If things like \ and $ are a problem in a password field someone at Intel needs a boot in the butt.
Router has no issue with those.
As long as each used character has a separate code it should just be a case of a comparison to the local password in device
or system.I have never used ceni, maybe I can see if that will get my netbook comnnected in Bullseye.

Regarding my connection issue with EEPC netbook. With yet another a fresh live system.I now have a connection but /var/lib/connman/wifi is not showing the correct password as entered in cmst
I copied the password in to the box to ensure it is correct,Instead of 1 backslash from the password the config entry shows 4
Part of password: instead of
s-?\8tnCMST entered s-?\\\\8tn
But I am still getting a connection, Any idea how and why is welcome.
This whole issue is weird. But so is my EEPC, it is the one where I already swapped out the wifi card, before
that it was even more bothersome to connect.Further to above, password is in clear text, any idea on changing that, i can plug a stick in to most computers
and quickly have access to the users network. Probably a feature demanded by agencys but would be nice if we had it
encrypted and hidden as standard.- This reply was modified 1 year, 6 months ago by ModdIt.

::I also tried different characters (including “) and as you said it creates multiple \\ charcaters inside the connman file. I have no idea what method it uses to interpret them ata ll.
Good to know it worked for you on the eepc out of the box. Maybe simply removing the configuration and creating it anew was the best solution.
The current connman version doesn’t allow to store passwords as hashes, so forget it right now. The only way for something to read it is if it can read ALL your files, but that is very unlikely if you are careful, and I know you are very careful, so not happening.

::Hi xecure, thanks for looking, no midea why I was able to connect in the end.
Maybe I can boot a fresh stick later or tomorrow and see if that will login
to router.I know you are very careful, so not happening,
I worry about users in family and maybe soon in a childrens home not so much me.
Hoping to get a foot in the door by donating a complete setup, core 2 duo with antiX
fully configured including bells and whistles. -
