      Many thanks to Xecure for the tips and Ramachandran for confirmation that it works.

      1. Make sure WIFI is enabled in connman.
      2. Connect ethernet cable.
      3. When you are sure Internet is working, in the cmst (connman) interface, next to WIFI, switch Tethering to ON.
      4. A new window pops up asking for a name for the new access point. Type the new name.
      5. After accepting, a new window pops up asking for a password for this new access point. Type in the password.
      6. After a few seconds, a new access point is created and you should be able to connect to the hotspòt created.

        That sure may come in handy to folks that only have cabled internet and want to use Wi-fi on their mobile devices!

        Xecure is literally writing the book about connman on antiX!

        Is there anything our little distro does not do?

          next to WIFI, switch Tethering to ON.

          I do not see Tethering option in any of Connman tabs. Is this a new version of Connman or the one provided in antiX 19.2?
          Thanks and Regards…

            @olsztyn:
            On antiX full:
            – If you have the square icon on the Icewm system tray that shows the network traffic (should be the third one from the right), right click it;
            -Click the “Wireless” tab, on the left side;
            -Click the “Enable tethering” icon on the bottom right;
            – Choose the SSID (thename of the wireless network you want to provide from your computer, for ex: “PPC”) and choose the Passphrase ( the password you want that wireless network to have, for example “123456789”)
            – Click “ok”

            Done.

            It works here… Creates the wireless network just fine…

            Please note: you can’t use your WiFi network connection to create another WiFi network (at least I can’t on my device)

              Thank You!
              Regards…

              Edit:
              I think this is a valuable addition to existing capabilities of stock antiX. Thanks Xecure!
              Until now I did not see this capability, not seeing such option in Connman. In Network Manager, which I also have installed it is clearly visible on the menu – ‘Create New Wi-Fi Network’…
              Thanks again…

                Do you have cmst installed?

                  If you are referring to Connman tray app I have it currently commented out in the desktop-session conf. In my config it is Network Manager tray app starting by default. The Connman tray app cmst starts when I invoke Connman and stays there until manually exited.

                      Now I see. So it is on ‘Status’ tab of Connman. I do not know how I missed it…
                      Thanks again…

                        Once we get connman working for everyone, I think many will be happy and not miss wicd at all.
