This is something worth contributing to, directly or indirectly.
If you have any skills or leadership in any of these areas, helping to improve Debian makes MANY other distributions, (including ours), better, with fewer things we have to re-engineer or develop ourselves.
I read the PDF slide for the presentaion (as no link was provided for the video presentation by phoronix), and the only 3 slides are the ones in the phoronix site. I cannot see any real problem there. Their biggest problem, in my opinion, is the mailinglist bug reporting system they still use. I dislike giving out my email out to anywhere, so I try to avoid mailing lists. If they could set their contribution and bug reporting on a gitlab site or other similar system it would be easier for everyone. Even asking for merge request would be easier.
