Instlled AntiX on my kids computer today. It is so much faster now, thank you.

I am having a theme issue. I have downloaded the theme I want, moved it to /usr/share/themes and /usr/share/icewm/themes, but it isn’t showing up in my options from the task bar.

I went to control center–customize look and feel, selected the theme I want, icons and selcted the icons I want, but they are not showing up system wide.

If I open an app they are, but the task bar and menu are all the wrong theme and icons.

When I go to settings-themes in from the start button, my preferred theme is not showing up as an option.

I am sure it is something simple…but I have been jacking with it for a couple of hours now.

I searched “themes” and “changing themes” in the fourms and got zero results before posting.

      Thanks in advance!

        Is it an IceWM theme?

If so, you could look at how /usr/share/icewm/themes/antiX-Magic-Small is organized. Yours should look similar folders, filenames, permissions. After it’s installed you need to restart IceWM for it to appear on the IceWM themes menu.

No, I pulled it off pling. I use it on my MX machine.

          I have rebooted since.

As far as how it is organzied that is probably above my pay grade.

The themepack possibly supplies an xfce variant but NOT an icewm variant. Share the pling url where you downloaded the themepack.

              This is the one.

If is was for xfce, but not icewm I would think I wouldn’t have been able to select it in appearance. It has applied to apps, etc, just not the task bar/menu. My understanding of how is applied is limited though………

It’s a Gnome GTK3 theme, not IceWM. It can be installed, probably, but you should research how and where it should be installed. I expect you will be able to configure it via the Control Centre .

                    They go in /usr/share/themes

After install you should be able to run Control Centre>>Desktop>>Customize Look and Feel to select and customize it

they may also go in :
                      /home/YOURNAME/.themes

@BobC proposal involves the whole system, while what above involves only your username (in case 2 or + persons use your pc).

Then you can run the Control Centre in the very same way.
