Just a shout out for how well antiX 19.x (and MX 19.x) is working on my little hockey-puck sized mini-pcs!

Almost disposable, these are the typical Atom Z8350’s, 32gb essd, and 2gb ram. And if something like wireless or sound isn’t working, I just hang working usb dongles off them, like wireless and usb<>audio adapters until I put some further work into getting them working. But as a professional slacker, I’ll probably just leave dongles hanging. 🙂

These were a real problem for me with other systems running the 4.9 kernel, but the antiX devs did a great job of getting that kernel under control so the Atoms won’t hang. Not only that, but the mmcblk devices were also problematic earlier with other distributions.

AntiX makes a great distro for these little ‘pucks. Installation onto the internal little essd’s was absolutely no problem with default settings.

Normally I run with persistent usb sticks, but I blew away the oem o/s, and antiX was installed to the essd without any hitches.

      Thanks devs!

Hi pdp-8! FWIW, I got my start working on a pdp-1. And a pdp-6 which was a beast and broke frequently. The pdp-1 was built like a tank and never broke down without outside intervention on our part.

I have an Atom based HP Mini110. It uses the N455 and has only 1GB of RAM. antiX runs great on that machine. I have antiX-17 installed. I am thinking of updating to antiX-19 but I will miss the CENI app. I think I will put 19 in a partition to set it up before I overwrite v17.

I am also considering putting antiX on one of my Atom based tablets. It came with Win8 and I put Win10 on it but I hate it. Wind10 doesn’t have the proper drivers for the batteries. I never put antiX on a tablet before. It uses a Z2760 and has 2GB of RAM.

ceni is included on latest antiX-19.2 series.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

Ahh, great news! I like Ceni and I missed it in 19.1. Now I will be happy!

              Thanks anti!
