::I have to say, you took the ugliness out of the tilers. That is quite an accomplishment. I keep TRYING different tilers, but always end up back on IceWM. I do like the looks of yours and DWMX.
I use IceWM with its WinArrange and WinGrid keys to make it work as a tiler when I am doing things that Tilers do better.
My current fanatical quest is to build in free or super low cost (in terms of Ram and CPU) disk space monitors into IceWM itself for mounted volumes so I will no longer need the conky running. I’m afaid I’m just not up to the task, and am on my 3rd try now at it, but I keep trying. I don’t know C++ so its quite a challenge. BTW, the status bar ads a lot of memory to DWM’s requirements. I found that out when I built the antiX based (instead of Debian) respin of DWMX.
Cheers!

::@BobC You can try these monitoring tools:
slstatus (https://tools.suckless.org/slstatus/)
https://nicolargo.github.io/glances/

::Somewhere there is an answer for me. It probably involves ego, work, thinking or effort though, LOL. In this case we know it’s not money.
Thanks for the suggestions. I am probably just being too stubborn, but I really hate admitting defeat. I don’t need the 10 mb of memory that bad except on the Pentium II and Pentium 4, which I use very rarely.

::Slstatus looks light, under 1 mb. It would be great if I could get it to appear in a status line above the IceWM windows like sometimes programs are able to do. That is the kind of thing I was looking for…

::I’m no slstatus expert. All the suckless software is tiny. But remember code size does not always equate to active memory use (size).
In the FWIW category, you really should use arch’s wiki (if you don’t already) for guidance/tips on using these geeky tools. Also I highly recommend the archlabs forums, there are some serious geeks there. 😉

::I did get slstatus configured and compiled. I wasn’t able to get it to appear with IceWM, but I think I have it working. LOL, the C++ in IceWM is just so foreign to me. At least I can make some sense of slstatus. I will probably try it with DWM just to see if it worked. It’s taking 256k of memory. That k is not a typo.
I wish I was a better coder in the modern languages. Over the years I guess I’ve learned what I needed to to do what I really wanted or needed to.
