I know the default antiX menu is sometimes a bit on the big size- I like having a customized menu (hiding the “Personal” and “Help” entries that I don’t use, etc- but one thing that I always wanted, but didn’t know it could be done (like it can be easily done in Fluxbox menu) is having all Categories of apps (antiX, games, etc) available straight from the first layer of the menu. It’ easy, once you know how to do it:

menu > Control Center > Icewm… > “Menu” Tab > search for the line (the exact contents depend on you locale):
      menufile "Applications" /usr/share/icons/papirus-antix/48x48/apps/applications.png menu-applications

and comment it out, by adding a “#” on the start of the line.
Then add this line, after the line you just commented out:
      include menu-applications
Save the changes in the config file
Check out the menu – now you save about a second, every time you start at app from the menu (that’s not a “favourite”, pinned on the top of it).

I hope someone finds this tip handy…

      P.

Thank you! I always appreciate your tips. I’ll be saving many seconds. On a side note, having built up a debian sid install from scratch with icewm, I must say that the way antiX customizes the icewm menu is one of its greatest feats. I gave up and used jgmenu instead. The default icewm menu has way too many category layers. You lose a lot of seconds.
