I have been trying to install antiX 17 and when I try to login I get No directory, logging in with HOME=/ the first time I thought it would get fixed after I installed the desktop environment but that didn’t help and I have tried both the net and core install. any ideas how to fix the home directory? also having trouble with links for Computer and Trash not sure but here is the message i get “could not display “computer:///”. caja cannot handle computer locations” anyone have that issue after installing net or core? this is a mate desktop setup i followed dolphin_oracle’s videos.

::Are you able to install? Is the problem after you install? Did you set up a username when requested? Have you checked that the iso is ok? etc etc
ie Give us more info otherwise we are just guessing.- This reply was modified 5 years, 6 months ago by anticapitalista.

::If you are using the cli installer and have /home on a separate partition then you may have to manually edit /etc/fstab (as root) and make sure there is an entry there for your /home partition.

That’s an easy step to forget, but once you install or upgrade a few versions, it’ll be something you check consistently. 🙂

::I confirm that there is a problem with the cli-installer when choosing a separate /home.
I’ll try and find a fix.If you choose not to have a separate /home partition, then the installation works.

That’s because you found a bug in our cli-installer.

::Thank you sincerely BobC. I’ve been prepping to build up from net to a lean XFCE this week, and your pkglist is going to save me some grief I’m sure.
Best,

PS: Do you know if I can rip out udev and drop in eudev as a straight-up replacement? I notice on some versions of the base and full, both are present. (So I’d guess I need udev in any case, with eudev being optional … but I don’t know for sure without testing.)
PPS: Which repos do you track? I was headed for testing, left to my own devices, but I sometimes listen to wise advice.
