Hi all,
I downloaded tails this morning at the public library (faster than my smartphone hotspot) on a 4GB RAM Lenovo Thinkpad t440s. 2GB RAM is recommended for actual tails and my Packard Bell dot S has only 1GB RAM.
Once said that. I downloaded it 3 times because it didn’t work when rebooting. I carefully checked every step and everything seemed OK.
Well, now, I’m at home, I reinstalled (last step) using balenaEtcher, and the result was the same as before. Lenovo unit doesn’t recognize the USB stick at all as a removable unit. So, I tried with Packard Bell, the two 32 GB USB’s pendrives copies (I downloaded it to two different pendrives) worked on dot s, but it seems that the 1GB RAM it’s not enough to run this software smoothly, and it booted but blocked.
Any suggestions about this situation?
Thank you very much for your time.
Best wishes.

::I had to look up what Tails is. Tails is not a part of antiX. It is a separate operating system intended to be booted from a USB drive and focused on security and anonymity. That is fine, but you can’t expect to get help with Tails on the antiX forum since it is not part of antiX. This is an antiX forum and we discuss antiX.
This not to say that there might not be some Tails users here who may be able to give you some tips. There might be. But you should go to the Tails forums for help with Tails.

::Hi Seaken64,
Yes, I know that. My question was about a general discussion because the soft is running, not smoothly, on a 1GB RAM, but it doesn’t run on a windows 4GB RAM.
Thank you anyway.

::If you search the forum you can learn from others about setting up antiX for privacy and anonymity. I suspect that antiX can be used just as well as Tails for this purpose. But it may take some tweaking to set it up just the way you prefer. The Live system is very powerful.

::I though the topic was deleted.
Thank you for the information.
Anyway, I’m not running antiX live, I installed it in HDD.
I’ll search about it.

::One important thing to bring up when discussing the addition of software to antiX:
The antiX distribution is lean and efficient because software is carefully chosen specifically
to work well on older systems.The kernels (we have multiple Versions) specifically to support multiple types and age ranges
of aging systems.When you start adding additional software, different kernels, etc., on one hand, sure,
it’s your computer and you have the freedom to do whatever you want to do.The choice is there. The consequences of change are:
1) It probably won’t be as “lean” and “efficient” as the antiX defaults.
2) While you can choose what you want, when you change it, you are
then responsible for the changes.--

::Sorry bothering you again, Seaken64.
Did you mean I can run antiX on HDD and have an antiX pendrive running live configuring it as something like Tails?
Thanks for your time and patience.
