::I like that idea very much anticapitalista. That way, people can add all of the Yad tools if they want them.
Those who prefer the classic antiX approach can continue to use what they are familiar with.
This provides a clean way to offer choice; great thinking! ????--

::Many thanks, everyone. Even if anticapitalista does not include this script in antiX, at least we have a resource to point to users that want to easily edit how IceWM behaves.
Just for the sake of completion, I’m thinking of adding buttons to lxappearance and to wallpaper script. Unfortunatly, I think that adding a GUI to select the theme would just be too hard, and that can already be easily done from the menu (unlike most other tasks the GUI does).Partly off topic, but related to GUI’s to help manage antiX:
@Brian Masinick – yes, fortunatly, anticapitalista accepted some scripts that I created, over the years, that are now part of antiX: the GUI to set the time/date was created by me and Skidoo; IceWM’s Toolbar Icon Manager; Android Connect (with Sybok’s help, he taught me a lot about about structuring scripts, shame I’m not that well organized); antiX Updater (that, for some random reason, led to me being personally attacked here in the forum); Personal Menu Manager; yad-calendar was suggested by me (the GUI calendar that appears when users click the clock, before that was a cli calendar), yad-volume (available, but without a desktop file- it’s meant to be used as a toolbar entry, to replace having volumeicon always running, saving RAM on low powered devices). I hope that the GUI to enable/disable UFW also gets to be included in antiX. FT10-transformation is a package available in the antiX repository (Xecure helped a lot, creating it). FT10 include some small scripts that I think are useful, so in a way most of my scripts are either included in antiX full, out of the box or available inside FT10.

I see anti’s new yad-goodies package and I think it’s a GREAT idea!

::One last version, before the week-end…
Not so “basic” anymore. It’s a one stop shop for almost anything anyone can want to change- even the Wallpaper and Theme – it’s almost like IceWM is a Desktop Environment…
Note: @anticapitalista – I hope these change in packages is just for better maintain them, and users still get the GUI’s that are now currently part of antiX-goodies, out of the box…

::@PPC – yes it is mostly due to being easier to maintain.
All present goodies will still be available and installed on full.- This reply was modified 9 months, 1 week ago by Brian Masinick. Reason: due instead of die
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Hello PPC.
Many thanks for the “icewm-manager-gui-v4.zip”, it has some of the “magic” you created for FT10. Please, just check the title of the one that opens by clicking the “Select iceWM Theme” button.
I am looking forward to translating this program further into my language.
Here is my suggestion for the pt_BR text of the .desktop file:

::The current script:
-Fixed a bug in a title window (thanks for noticing it @Marcelocripe)
-added options to add/remove applications from the startup file (this is the only option not related to look and feel of the Window Manager, but I thought it deserved a GUI)Edit: Now the most common settings in IceWM’s config files can all be managed via an easy to use GUI, all except the “keys” config file- due to it’s complexity, and also, not being something that usually a non tech minded person may want to edit, I think I won’t tackle that particular file…
This script is very near to be fully completed. I think it’s already production ready, as it is, but please test it, and make a backup of your icewm config files, before doing so!!!

and the equivalent entry in pt
Name[pt]=Configuração Básica do IceWM Comment[pt]=Configurar elementos de ambientes de trabalho IceWM: barra de ferramentas, bandeja do sistema, relógio, gestão de janelas, menu pessoal, aspeto e comportamento, início automático
The suggested entry in English:
Name=IceWM Settings Manager Comment=Manage several IceWM features like: toolbar, system tray, clock, window management, personal menu, look and fell, auto start

I’m not sure where the title window defect surfaced or exactly what the changes were, but I downloaded the latest version and experimented with the features that I’m interested in. One feature that I had used in the previous version, but tested more extensively with more applications was to set the position and location of several applications. This feature has been working really well for me.
I’m also not sure exactly what Workspace indicator on/off does, so I’m not sure if it’s working or not. The “Show Desktop” icon on/off is near the left edge of the toolbar and I do see that toggle on and off.
The other features that I tried are clear and they work fine for my purposes.

::I’m also not sure exactly what Workspace indicator on/off does
It shows/hides the Id of available workspaces in the toolbar (the “1” and “2”, by default), that you can click to move to different workspaces…
The related function got removed by mistake!Changes:
– re-added the Workspace indicator on/off function
– Made the startup file management a bit simpler, by having all options on the first menuAttachments:

::IF there were IDs shown in the previous version, they were difficult to spot; clearly I didn’t see them at all.
Robin’s workspace tool that can add additional workspaces and change the names or numbers works fine.
I’ll check out your update and see if anything else is any more obvious, though the feature you describe really doesn’t carry any personal value for me. Still, I’m trying to be helpful with testing and comments, so I’m happy to continue testing. Thanks for all the work you do; whether I use it all the time is immaterial; I want to test as much as possible so that future users can get the best experience possible.--

::I’m not sure where the title window defect surfaced
It was not a defect, the title text was in Portuguese language.

Não era um defeito, o texto do título estava em idioma Portugues.

::I just downloaded icewm-manager-gui-v42 and tried it out. The items I could not see before work – the toggle of the workspace numbers (or names in my case) now work as expected; I can toggle the toolbar between the top and bottom, enable or disable the toolbar display, so all of that is now working as expected.
I think it’s all working now, so unless someone else spots any other items, it looks very good, and the appearance, performance, and functionality of this tool is very good. I thank you and Robin for your efforts on the various components within the overall app, and everyone who has contributed ideas, code, testing, and anything else. This is something that has been a true “labor of love”. Well done!
