roland
I had a small camera given which appears to work, but I cannot get antiX to see it nor its file system in the table of devices panel in spaceFM.
When plugged in via the usb cable supplied it displays USB mode connecting, if I follow the suggestion in a Ubuntu post I found the camera hangs with USB connect displayed.
The suggestion:-
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:langdalepl/gvfs-mtp
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgradedoes not work as the first apt-get command is not recognised.
Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

::Hi Roland, is there a way in the settings of the camera to set it to mass storage instead of eg auto?
Did you try to open the camera with gtkam?August 15, 2023 at 9:16 am #114250MemberXunzi_23
::Hi roland, please do not try to use PPA with antiX, it can lead to a mess.
I use gvfs to mount a phone, it is available, you can install with apt or use synaptic.

::I have a old Kodak which has a sd card in it.
It is a lot easier for me to pull the card out and mount it instead.
Instead of fighting it. Cable is just used to charge camera battery.
Following ubuntu instructions can fubar a install if you are clueless using this operating system.
lsusb -v
inxi -Fxz

::If only I had looked through the camera menu! There is a usb settings option with 4 types of connect available, one of which is mass storage, which lets spaceFM see the device and its filesystem. Thanks for all contributors especially caprea who got it in one!
