      modify the okular exec command in the okular.desktop file to read:

      Exec=okular %U %i -caption %c &>/dev/null

      with the addition on the end to direct all terminal output to the null device.

      With this change in place, okular started from the menu selection and worked o.k.

      Thanks for following up to report the solution.

        If using an older version firefox (or SeaMonkey?), the Textarea Cache (addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/textarea-cache) will prevent lost drafts.

        Thanks!!! Saving my bacons!

        We get automatically logged out from this forum after 24 hours? Cookie expires? Webserver is rebooted? Visiting *about* the same time of day, on several days I have lost whatever I typed to post <sad face><mad>….. like, I was logged in when I started the post but click submit and ohshit I’m not still logged in anymore.

        This extension Textarea Cache, I installed it today and the newest version 4.5.0, musta been rewritten as a web extension. It works with newer firefox version!!!
        After installing it, I did go to about:addons and in the Options, for “Popup what to show list” I chose “Window” [[[not tab]]].

        edit. It was jarring when I visited the forum and “recent” showed that I had posted to an “antiX 17.5” topic. Wound up here thru search results “lost drafts” trying to see if others were having the same problem due to unexpected logout.
