      EDIT: regarding latest desktop freezing issues:

      Ungoogled Chromium Version 95.0.4638.5-4-1.1-linux. takes down my desktop repeatedly.
      Clearing cache and creating a new config may allow running, until next reboot.
      I can not recommend the version on Broadwell i5, it may run on other cpu series,

      ungoogled-chromium_91.0.4472.164-1.1.Appimage is ok without uBlock on my machine.

        Version 95.0.4638.54 (Official Build, ungoogled-chromium) custom (64-Bit) is now running stable on my box with ublock installed. That is the portable version.

        Important is to unpack to where you will start it from,
        ensure sandbox is set to ownership your user:root an early readme had an error.

        I use ublock origin from https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
        No need of google to get it..

        The usual humungous chromium cache can be combatted by either manual deletion or additions to desktop session startup.
        Can also be controlled by starting with a given cache size I preferred following options.

        delete chromium cache with: rm -rf ~/.cache/chromium
        I added a button for above and use below

        #Moves chromium cache to temp, thanks to xecure for the solution.
        #First line only needed if chromium cache exists in home
        #[ -d “$HOME/.cache/chromium” ] && rm -rf $HOME/.cache/chromium
        mkdir -p /tmp/demo/.cache/chromium && ln -sf /tmp/demo/.cache/chromium /home/demo/.cache/chromium

        Should chromium then add itself a default folder with another cache in home, next code line kills that problem. I had a folder /default/chromium /cache appear
        seems somewhat random as it did not always reappear after deletion and restarting ungoogled. Kept it to be sure.
        mkdir -p /tmp/demo/.cache/chromium/Default && ln -sf /tmp/demo/.cache/chromium/Default /home/demo/.cache/chromium/Default

        Looking for ublock without web store and ublock origin installed gave

          Maybe of interest for some, No garantee for stability, running now on a Broadwell i5 quad core.
          No screen tearing apparent, fox palemoon both bad on this machine with Legacy Nvidia card and no driver.

          hopefully it will no longer make the desktop freeze at irregular intervalls. Worst site for freezing, this forum.

          Also built with GN flags enable_platform_hevc=true and enable_platform_hevc_encoding=true, but they don’t seem to have any effect.

          Install ungoogled chromium first then common, driver, sandbox, rest incl l10 package.
          Install in wrong order you will get errors.

          I have anti fingerprinting options and clear cache on shutdown enabled, latter option is unavailable in other chromium based browsers.

            Hello Moddit and ungoogled chromium users,

            The repo still works well on antiX 21 with (or without) UBlock origin, now with “97” version.

            However from my use I see that you have to install the “common” package first (sudo dpkg -i ungoogled-chromium-common_97….), then the “ungoogled-chromium” (the big one) and then the other packages.

              Thanks Girafenaine,
              since latest ungoogled chromium became available with I7 flag compilation it is fine on all the hardware I see, caveat:
              as long as hardware acceleration is switched off. Switching on causes crashes and freezes entire desktop.
              That is a common issue on all chrome based browsers running on linux, including with NVidia vendor drivers..

              Install common package first, is good info, maybe it made a difference that I had already been running older versions.

              Checking out the chrome flags is worthwhile, I set more anti fingerprinting without loss of stability or speed.

                Edited post, missed some changes.

                A recently updated version of UngoogledChromium is available. The Browser is 64 Bit only.

                There are now project supported OpenSuseBuildServices repo instructions on the ungoogled chromium site for both Bullseye and Sid.
                https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium-debian

                Using the available setup now means apt updates will automagicaly check for and install updates as they become available, an improvement
                over the interim deb package downloads and manual install from eloston page.

                As yet untested, processor compatibility may be improved as the Eloston downloads were I7 optimised during compilation.
