Hi all. Newish to Antix. First tried 17rc1 in VBox and liked it.
Now on 17.1 on bare metal – but only the full install iso works properly.
Tried net and core install first, but neither will boot from a grub menu on my uefi computer.
Is there anything else I should be doing to enable uefi boot?

::I’m not sure of all of the specifics, but I too had difficulties when I first moved from a layout using the old classic methods with the decades old BIOS approaches. I ended up installing a distribution, which at the time, had a pretty complete boot implementation that set up and satisfied 100% of the issues associated with using UEFI.
I know that our distribution now supports UEFI pretty well, but I’m not familiar with what might be potentially missing from the Core or Base versions of the installer. We’ll have to have one of the core team members who have been involved with the code that goes into the configuration of boot management respond to get the best answer for you. Meanwhile, let’s note this as a potential issue to be explained by the experts.

::Hi Brian, yes the full install iso supports uefi, and creates grub menu, properly. My query is just about the net/core implementations. Haven’t tried the base install yet. Cheers. I really want to try to install MATE on top of antiX without icewm etc.

::Under the circumstances, install MATE with the full installation and make sure that it works.
If you know what you are doing you can get rid of software that you do not want or need.

::OK Brian. Installed MATE. Now to get everything the way it is in my virtual machine. Then remove IceWM?

::Yeah, once you have confirmed a successful login to antiX using MATE, you can safely remove a window manager, such as icewm, and other window managers not used by MATE.
