Hi all,
Appreciate if able to help as facing 2 issues as of below:
1) not able to detect wifi when on live usb. Had tried to press wifi physical button on and off but still not able to detect the wifi hardware. Therefore, not able to access internet. I also tried to press “rescan” on Connman but nothing able to detect.
2) not able to detect partition during installation antiX 22 64 bit (the partition is currently MX Linux 21 XFCE 64 bit). Installation fails at 12% and the message said not able to detect the partition where else the partition is able to select during installation and also able to detect via Gparted. The current partition run flawlessly on MX Linux 21 XFCE. It is dual boot with Windows 11 on Huawei D15 notebook.
I’m a new user to Linux, slightly more than 2 years.
Already install antiX 21 32 bit on Acer One 1G RAM and it works flawlessly (standalone OS).
Also, already install trio OS (MX Linux 21 XFCE + antiX 21 + Windows 7) on 2 desktop PC both 32 bit and 64 bit.I attach pictures below using inxi -F via terminal during live usb for references.

::Not an expert, but what happens if you select another kernel at boot?
Also, the few times an installation has failed for me, it was due to a corrupted ISO/USB.

::Id the wi-fi card correctly detected (and working) in MX-linux, right? Like punranger pointed out- try a newer kernel, the same as MX’s or as close as possible, to see if it includes the needed driver…
Since, as you can see, the wifi card has no driver, as is unable to be activated in the first connman window, it’s pointless to try to “rescan”… It’s like trying to turn the dial on a radio that is turned off- you won’t catch any radio station, right?

::I had tried to download another iso from different repository location but it is the same.

::yes, this is the first time i encounter wifi and audio not able to detect using live. Since the same partition had MX Linux 21 on it, the shoulnt be issue for Linux installation. think may be it is due to kernel. Thnks guy for the suggestion

How to Search for AntiX solutions to your problemsNovember 4, 2022 at 1:38 pm #92300Memberuser2831
::Tq very much…as not able to detect wifi, hence not able to install newer kernel before installation, maybe will stick to MX Linux for a while…
Again thanks all for quick active reply and the great effort to assist problem in my post…
I experience the same quick reply in MX Linux forum also.
As I am new to Linux, this experience is a very positive for me towards Linux community 🙂

::There is the possibility to boot the newer 5.10 kernel on the live stick with antiX full version. Both kernels old and new are installed per default.

::The inxi -F (attached photo) is the latest full version with kernel 4.9 live version.
The reason I want to replace MX Linux to antiX because I found antiX require more manual workout with iceWM and JWM (I had antiX standalone OS in another netbook with 1Gbyte RAM), compared to XFCE in MX. Also, I can learn more on manual editing in setting with iceWM settings. Both antiX and MX have own strength and I just happens to like both 🙂
I will try it out 🙂 when time permits
Thanks Caprea for the assists…

::You can also boot into the modern kernel . It must be somewhere in the options.

::This is something new to me. I have not explore Advance option yet. Will give it a try when time permits.
This will save me time and instead of scratching my head where to search to boot latest kernel instead of 4.9
Thanks Caprea for the clear direction on where to look for it 🙂 . Really appreciate that…
