mpv and celluloid (I don’t use vlc) working ok here on frugal antiX-19 (sysVinit).
Did you autoremove anything after full upgrade?

Post output of /var/log/apt/history.log and /var/log/apt/term.log

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

I just searched “Could not initialize EGL” on line. I found this:
              https://groups.google.com/g/beagleboard/c/CfTSfP9xJrA

Try to addapt the procedure advised there (and also, please try using search engines to find how to solve problems before posting here- it’s a faster way for you to find the solution for most problems!).
If it does not work for you, post your results, so people can help debug your problem further…

              P.

OK, have a look in /var/log/apt/term.log or /var/log/apt/history.log (start at the bottom) and see which apps/libs got removed

Added: I have to go now till tomorrow.

If the context is console (not within an xsession, using a terminal emulator)
you can reconfigure the console font via the
                          console-font-select and/or console-width-select commands

                            seems to be ok

Are you sure that mpv/celluloid stope working after that upgrade?

According to your logs, you removed some X apps. Why?

Try reinstalling all those xorg packages, reboot and see if it works.

yes I’m sure they stopped after that upgrade, also pulse become weird, like stopping after a while if no sound is outputted…

I reinstalled all those xorg modules, it didn’t do anything, those were removed a long time ago because they weren’t in use…

                                  should i just reinstall antix?
