I have installed antiX-21 (base, 32-bit, non-pae), without setting a root password. Now, I want to add a printer at localhost, but it asks for an admin password. What can I do, please?

        Try:

        sudo service cups status
        sudo service cups start

sudo will ask for your user password, not for the root password.

        In browser call
        http://localhost:631/admin
        Click Add printer.
When asked, enter your user name and your user password. Again no root password needed.

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

I have a problem with the wi-fi adapter, so I haven’t been able to try, yet.
But I tried with another laptop and I can’t pass the authentication step. No success with root nor with user name & password.

          Before that, I had installed cups, cups-client, cups-bsd, hplip, simple-scan & sane-utils
          & I had run:

          hp-setup -i
          sudo adduser username lpadmin
sudo usermod -a -G scanner username
          newgrp - scanner
          sudo service cups start

as caprea had suggested me in an older topic.
