UngoogledChromium DEBS are available for download from
https://github.com/berkley4/ungoogled-chromium-debian/releases/tag/111.0.5563.64-1
64 Bit only for Linux. But throwing install errors on antiX 23, will post if I can find a solution.
For now back to https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/
and wait for portable to be updated.- This topic was modified 1 month, 4 weeks ago by Xunzi_23.

::I just snagged the https://github.com/berkley4/ungoogled-chromium-debian/releases/download/111.0.5563.64-1/ungoogled-chromium_111.0.5563.64-1_amd64.deb
image only; it works fine and I don’t need anything else for routine browsing.Identifies itself as Version 111.0.5563.64 (Official Build, ungoogled-chromium) built on Debian bullseye/11, running on Debian bullseye/11 (64-bit)
With two tabs open – 414.9 MiB (private memory) + 187.4 MiB (shared memory) = 602.2 MiB (total memory) used.performance is responsive, both to typing in forms and in Web page responsiveness.

::Memory releases well, after putting up a third tab for information, then closing it again, and allowing the initial cache allocation to settle,
updated figures are 399.1 MiB + 189.4 MiB = 588.5 MiB, not bad at all.--

::Hi Brian, wish you better luck.
Too many dependency issues for me, presently I have two convenient choices, sid or the
antiX 23 tester which only boots with the 6 series Kernel. It looks to me like berkely4 compiled or prepared debs for a pretty specific setup including
NVidia propriety driver. The posts in debian wiki looked positive so hopefully a fix will come.March 11, 2023 at 5:55 pm #101716Moderator

::Yeah, two packages with inconsistent libraries prevent mine from properly installing on antiX 23 Alpha.
libtiff5 and libwebp6 have improperly matched dependencies at the present time.--

::Thanks for check on Bullseye, that will meet needs for most users at present.
Not all are as mad as I am running antiX sid as rolling release and much modified
23 as daily driver. I know it will eventualy break but having run a lot of other
distros I can say it is insanely stable. I run live so rollback is one option, an
ISO image second option. important data on an internal disk and an external drive in
a storage space. Will unpack the deb tomorrow and see if I can get it to run on 23 with reckless
controll file changes. Will also ask the dev if a bookworm version is feasible, that would be really good news.
Until then Portable version rules..March 11, 2023 at 9:37 pm #101731Moderator

::@xunzi_23: Are you saying that the “Portable” image DOES work with antiX 23 Alpha? If so, I may try it out later again.
Meanwhile, what I’m really waiting for is our next antiX build! The Alpha 1 build, in spite of its shortcomings,
has been an EXCELLENT first Alpha build. Tell me of any other Alpha build that works as well as ours has.
I’m super excited about both the Debian Bookworm release and the antiX 23 release; I think both of them will be excellent!--

::Hi Brian,
been running the portable UngoogledChromium on antiX23 testing setup for weeks now,
writing this post with the setup.https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/releases/linux_portable/64bit/
Update to 111 version may take a little while, seems not urgent as no exploit fixes included.
The big difference to the deb from berkley4 is that the portable version has bromite fixes fully
included. That is problematic code is removed before compiling the binary which leads to an improved
resistence to tampering with settings.I put the contents of portable download in /opt/UngoogledChromium
No version number so just renew content of folder when updatingHow to set up the SUID sandbox:
1. Rename “chrome_sandbox” to “chrome-sandbox”
2. Set the file mode to 4755 sudo chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox
3. Set the group to root sudo chown :root chrome-sandboxMake chrome-wrapper executable I use right click with rox then set from the menu item
Make a personal starter using the control center menu tool, Enjoy.
The DEB package from berkley4 installed no errors on a fully updated antiX 22, including
drivers sandbox etc. Once I got a clean boot that is. Kernel 5.10 is on my worst ever list.I was caught by a hybrid antiX 23 lookalike yesterday, really funny. Mix of 22 and sid.

::Thanks @Xunzi_23: I have a pretty good collection of tools. My antiX 21/22 instance, which is on my every day HP-14 is well equipped with tools.
My Dell Inspiron 5558 has the antiX 23 Alpha instance for a particular reason – until antiX 23 comes pre-equipped with a newer kernel, the HP-14 will have to be manually configured. I don’t mind doing that on permanent, stable software, but it’s a pretty time consuming project, and I am hoping that our next test build will have at least one 2021 or newer kernel, in order to test on the HP as well as the Dell.In the meantime, UngoogledChromium works quite well on my HP, as do a number of other tools, a wide assortment of browsers, editors, file managers, etc.

::Both Appimage and Portable 64 bit versions of UngoogledChromium are now available, links below.
my experience is these do run well on antiX23 test version and antiX rolling sid..
Can test tomorrow on antiX 22 alongside the berkley installed version.https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/releases/appimage/64bit/ https://ungoogled-software.github.io/ungoogled-chromium-binaries/releases/linux_portable/64bit/111.0.5563.65-1Please do add UBlock, easy install from dev site as unpacked extension.
