Hello!
I am a fresh user of antiX and, I would say, a mediocre in computing and linux systems.Yesterday, I installed antiX 17.4 core on an old Toshiba Satelite (a full installation on a separate partition alongside windows xp).
First, I had tried to install antiX base but the cd would not load the system at all, although I did a md5sum check that proved to be correct.Everything went on pretty good and the system was running perfectly.
I installed icewm and a couple of basic packages, including libre office, vlc, chromium browser etc.
But, during the process of configuring and building up the system, at some point, and for no reason (I do not remember of doing something strange or risky) when I tried to download and install a package with apt-get, the response was “unmet dependencies …. depends on systemd”.
From then, it is impossible to install any package at all, for the same reason of dependency on systemd. Here is an example when I try to install spacefm:
root@antix1:/home/liofter# apt-get install spacefm Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done You might want to run 'apt --fix-broken install' to correct these. The following packages have unmet dependencies: dbus-user-session : Depends: systemd but it is not going to be installed libpam-systemd : Depends: systemd (= 241-1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: systemd-shim (>= 10-4~) but it is not going to be installed or systemd-sysv but it is not going to be installed spacefm : Depends: libffmpegthumbnailer4v5 but it is not going to be installed Depends: spacefm-common (= 1.0.6-3~mx17+1) but it is not going to be installed Depends: desktop-file-utils but it is not going to be installed E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt --fix-broken install' with no packages (or specify a solution). So, this is my problem and I would appreciate it, if somebody would help me, because I really want antiX to become my primary operating system.
Thank you for your work with antiX!!
(Forgive me for any mistakes or misbehaviours)

::You need to remove dbus-user-session – it depends on systemd which we do not use.
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Well, it was pretty easy, I guess.
First, I tried to remove dbus-user-session, but it didn’t work by itself.
Then I run “apt –fix-broken install” and everything started working again.I still don’t know why this happened so unexpectedly.
Thank you so much for the support. I keep on configuring my new antiX system and I am really excited that everything is working so well!
