For information to translators, a developer has updated a file at Transifex.
It’s called “unplugdrive” (project “antiX Linux community” or “antix-contribs”)
You can use this thread to share your translations.
      Best regards,
      Wallon

Many thanks for the separate announcement, Wallon. My message concerning the translations was hidden a bit in my posting:

        New unplugdrive version 0.89 out.

Most strings could get saved from previous version, so there are 10 new or modified ones only.

Direct link to antiX-contribs at transifex

Additional hint for translators: You may re-use most of these translations from previous version of unplugdrive, the texts are identically. But please make sure to copy the added new formatting directly from the English original strings at transifex to your translation.

        So long
        Robin

          Dear Robin,

I made an announcement because I did not receive any notification from Transifex.
I must admit that I had made a wrong translation for the channel n°3 “on” in the previous translation.
I thought it was the expression “On / Off”.
Not at all, it was the “on” used for example “on device”…. and it is not the same translation in French.
I’ll stay humble, it happens even to the best.

          Best regards,
          Wallon

Wallon, thanks for letting everyone know, I didn’t receive notification from Transifex via email or even on the website.
I also thought it was the word “ligado” for the word “on” in line number 3. The Robin who warned me it wasn’t “On/Off”. These are the linguistic pitfalls, in pt-BR language there are so many pitfalls that it is difficult to avoid mistakes that the eyes cannot see. It would take the knowledge of a Portuguese language teacher from Brazil to reach the 100% that I so long to achieve.

            – – – – –

              I must admit…

No problem at all. This happens to me as well. I’d better not want to know what a native speaker of Russian language would think while reading my Russian translations…

This kind of ambiguities you mention, in original phrases, is the reason for which I always that strongly opted and argued to write something into the developer notes of the .pot files before uploading the resource to transifex, by which means this kind of things can get sorted out easily, and no translator needs to guess what is actually meant. The better this preparation is done, the easier is the translation.

Transifex doesn’t send notifications if a resource is updated, only if a completely new resource was added. No idea what is the reason for this behaviour. So it is always good idea to post it in a prominent place here in board, as you did, not as me, who has hidden this message very well in the announcement of the new script version.

              Many thanks again, Wallon.

Bump. And another 4 strings. These will be the final ones for antiX 21 Version of unplugdrive.
All the other existing strings were kept unchanged.

                    Dear Robin,

This is translated for [fr] and [fr_BE].
It’s a good thing you put back 4 strings to translate because I was able to change other old translations.
We are always happy to translate antiX software.

                    Kinds regards,
                    Wallon
