Hi all. It’s been a while since I’ve logged on but I wanted to make sure that the development team and all that knows that I just ran a dist-upgrade, rebooted, everything runs perfectly. In fact, it almost feels like programs use less Ram. I have libreoffice writer & spreadsheets, gimp, Firefox 6.0.7.0 ESR, and SMTube running a video from MPV player at 720p and am only currently using 512mb of RAM. Steam doesn’t work unfortunately.
Good to see y’all again. Nice people running the forums and taking care of the Operating System’s maintenence too.
Also on a side note, I’ve heard of the collapse of Slackware and related OS’s due to lack of shits given about updating their own operating system (security guys, security is important!). I saw that Connochaet OS, an operating system based on Slack which I tried using on this laptop before I tried Antix, is being shut down due to the fact that Slackware is getting more difficult to build off of (I would imagine if the last stable release was in 2016…)
Anyways, I know 32 bit is going to be totally gone soon, but I’m gonna have fun with it while I can. Thanks all!
