It sounds like pudding really wants a rolling distro.

If so, antiX doesn’t meet that requirement.

You folks get distracted by trolls far too easily.

@DaveW asked a very important question that should get an answer if possible:

Are there pros and cons to upgrading eudev?
(Quite a while back, there was an issue where deleting residual eudev files with symantic crashed the system.)

Could we get a response about what anti’s ominous “However, I’m also thinking of upgrading eudev” means? What are the consequences?

And please get back on-topic on this serious subject? You’ve got an entire cafe where you can talk about the virtues of Chomsky and the horrors of the fact that Canadian socialism isn’t socialist enough for you.

          EDITED (removed off-topic discussion)

as to running alsamixer’ in terminal I did that still did not work

that is when I started to look at how long this would be support and found support could end as soon as 2022 . and had to decide how much time I was going to put in to some thing that could end in a few months just like 17

              upgrading eudev is now safe.

The ‘however’ relates to the fact that *if* there is an issue with udev, it will either cause the computer to boot but without use of a mouse/keyboard or simply bail out on boot (also without use of mouse or keyboard).
              Not nice.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
