Good day from sunny Colorado, USA!

I recently resurrected an older Dell Core2 Duo based PC, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD (added) & 1TB HDD. I am using this system as part of my sound studio set up.

First, I have to say, I love Anti-X and it’s minimalist options. It runs great and my pre-amp hardware worked right out of the box!

To the question, this PC does not have a WiFi adapter and I am unable to run a cable to my sound studio without damaging walls. My question is, while I know a USB WiFi adapter would work with this system, I wanted to find out if there is a brand that works best with Anti-X?

For example, in my heady *BSD days, I always had good luck with D-Link for custom kernel builds. Other manufacturers were difficult to get working, if not impossible.

Just wanted to ask before I started the back-and-forth trip to the store.

      Thanks,

      Ken

PS – I have a current work around of using an OLLLLLD Apple Express AP. It’s okay until DHCP needs to be renegotiated (for example, when rebooting), then I have to power-cycle it, then restart networking on the PC… kind of a pain.

I just brush up on reviews that mention linux before I go shopping

Usually. I look for intel, atheros, raylink wifi chips where the buyer in the review is using linux. Usually a big plus if it works with older 4.x kernel also.

I know for sure this one will work for ya

          Thank you for your response!

I’ve been looking around at reviews in general but found that I was reading a lot of “they should make this more obvious” type of comments which in most cases means, they probably didn’t read the specs and/or full description.

It occurred to me, a few minutes ago, that the on-board network card uses Intel chips so that would probably be a good bet. I will also go check out the others you suggested too.

Thanks for the welcome and have a good one!
