::Please find a screenshot – there isn’t a flag in systray.
The flag only appears when there are two or more keyboard layouts selected. As anticapitalista stated, selecting any language (other than US english) will set their corresponding keyboard layout and the US keyboard layout just in case (making it 2), so the flag will appear.

::Dear Xecure,
I read your wiki and you did a fantastic job.
But you didn’t read my post 51362, I’m not able to use my keyboard to type correctly in boot options.
For example, I tried to type the code “kbd=be”.
I have this “kbd/be” on my screen using my keyboard.
My “=” key is not recognized by Antix and gives the “/” sign.An other example, if I want to type the password “demo”, I have on my screen “de;o”. My “m” key is not recognized by Antix and gives the “;” sign.

::Dear Xecure,
This is not specific to Belgium.
On Wikipedia, several countries do not use a Qwerty keyboard.
Some countries use QwertZ, Azerty or other national keyboards.
To type in the boot options, you must use a keyboard 100% compatible with Querty.

You have the same problem I have on live boot screen. I don’t own a US keyboard, and had to check the US keyboard layout (search “US keyboard layout” image) to figure out where “=” and “_” are.
In my keyboard, I need to hit “¡” to get “=” and “?” to get “_”, as those keys take the position in US keyboards.It is a limitation of the boot screens (you cannot change the keyboard layout on the fly).
For LEGACY_BIOS boots, there are at least menus for most things (not for keyboard though), but EUFI boot you cannot see the options until you enter the text menus (no keyboard layout selection either).antiX is one of the few that have such advanced boot options, and that limits us to looking up the US keyboard layout.
For having to introduce the user password for changing the keyboard layout, could an exception be added in the sudoers file for the live demo user?

You still haven’t provided what I asked in #post-51310 – never mind i see it now – boot with any be option from F2 and post the output of that log.

Use F2 option, choose a language that uses qwerty, or qwertz or azerty abd then type.BTW – the letter ‘m’ on a Belgian keyboard is the key to the right of ‘l’ and it works just fine.

::I just tested the new package in an installed system and still the first flag displayed is US flag (even if no US keyboard was set). I need to hit a key for the flag to automatically change. Same behavior as before.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it. There aren’t that many people that use multiple keyboardsmoments ago I read your post mentioning “bootmenu [..] non-querty [..] I need to press the “=” key to get…”
ouch! (prior to reading that, I was completely unaware of the boot screen limitation)my mod added what seemed to be the most likely keymap-related event name.
A solution may just be a matter of identifying and listening for the correct name
https://github.com/nonpop/xkblayout-state/blob/master/XKeyboard.cpp
Instead ofXkbMapNotify, the only other eventname I can now suggest trying is KeymapNotify -
