Raatcharch
I just installed antiX, and I like it so far. I’m an old Crunchbang Linux fan, and this has a similar feel to it.
I’ve been flirting with tiling window managers on an off over the years, but the thing that always keeps me away is the lack of a classic start menu and panel.
I restarted antiX into the pre-packaged Herbstluftwm WM and was disappointed that the start menu and panel that comes pre-configured in the default ROX-IceWM environment disappeared.
Is there a way to replace IceWM with Herbustluftwm as my Window Manager while still keeping the ROX-desktop menu and panel? Thanks!

::Hello Raatcharch and everyone
A start is rox panel? did you get the panel up top yet? in herbstluftwm session Run
paneltoggle.shit is not the desktop rox you seek but may be a foothold until the answer comes here.
App Select might prove useful in herbstluftwm session? does this work in there?
/usr/local/bin/app-selectwait for that to spawn response

::Did you look at DWMx? I had the same issues with Herb. DWMx built on top of antiX instead of Debian looked good and was efficient. I never used it, so its not polished, but the concept sounds like what you are asking for. I had made an attempt at a 32 bit version of it at one point

::BTW, I kinda think the menu you are talking about being part of Rox-Filer is really coming from IceWM. Ile’s idea of using app-select with Herbs should work well.
Other similar options are to use a program like dmenu or Rofi. Manyroads has posted a number of things on tiling and program launchers.
Maybe you should be looking for where someone else has a menuing system you like working with Herbs and adapt their setup to antiX by starting with dotfiles of a setup you like.
