I’m experimenting with Antix19, but I have completely forgotten how to configure the ROX panel so that fluxbox doesn’t maximize windows over (or under) the panel. In my Antix17 installation, fluxbox avoids the panel, and maximizes windows such that the title bar aligns right under the ROX panel. I’ve been poring over the ROX configuration files till I was half blind, but I can’t find the right setting. Any ideas?

        This should work:

(Believe me… I searched & searched as well… Then I found the answer right in front of me, as it were.)

        confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019

Thanks a lot, Chrisophe! Not quite the solution that I needed, but you got me on the right track. In the same [Compatibility]-section of the ROX-filer options that you mentioned in your answer, the item ‘Override window manager control …’ was checked ON. Unchecking it made the ROX-panel behave in the way I wanted: maximizing windows leaves the panel visible, with the window’s title bar right beneath it.

Since ROX seems to be actively promoted here at Antix, I wonder if this behaviour shouldn’t be standard, after installing Antix. Unless of course other window managers than fluxbox need this item to be checked. As a rule I use fluxbox exclusively.
