I am new to Linux, still exploring a number of distros. Yesterday I came across MX from a comment on a forum elsewhere, and that led me to antiX, which I subsequently downloaded (full version 17.2 – 64 bit) and installed as a VB guest on a Win 8.1 host. I was pleasantly surprised by antiX, its light weight combined with an impressive set of apps.

      Typora
This is my default markdown app, which I wanted to download from its site. The instruction there is:
      `sudo add-apt-repository ‘deb https://typora.io/linux ./’
The Terminal’s feedback is that it does not know command add-apt-repository.
      As above, please advise.

      Bi-directional keyboard
This is a specificity of VB, which works flawlessly with e.g. Ubuntu, without me having had to do anything for it. With antiX it does not work. Any way to get this to work?

      Many thanks.

antiX gave a message I was not able to copy …

Did some Windows 8.1 Update remove Snipping Tool? 😉

antiX 17.x is based on Debian 9.x (Stretch).

@missTell: thanks for your reply. No, Windows did not remove that tool, it was just me being dopy 🙁
Anyway, I got it sorted by accident. The guest additions are included in the .iso image, and my shared folders are visible, although I had to change file manager to discover that. Thanks again.
