::So why is your deb.multimedia repos enabled, even worse also for testing?
sudo geany /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.listLook for these lines
# Multimedia Stable and Testing # Use to install libdvdcss2 and codecs. #deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org testing main non-free# Debian Bullseye/Stable #deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ bullseye main contrib non-free deb http://mirror.eu.oneandone.net/debian/ bullseye main contrib non-free deb http://security.debian.org/ bullseye-security main contrib non-free #deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org bullseye main non-freeComment the line for http://www.deb-multimedia.org out with a #
like it is shown above.
Then
sudo apt update
try again to install vlcEdit: Practically, the repos of deb.multimedia are only needed to install particular non-free codecs for playing DVDs.
When this is done with the “Package Installer” from control-centre they get activated and deactivated automatically again afterwards.- This reply was modified 1 year ago by caprea.

::General tips (already mentioned on this thread):
– don’t post on closed Threads (marked as solved)
– if you have a problem don’t post on a Thread that reports a similar problem – because, well, you can have similar symptoms with “different health problems”- what works in one case may not work in another…
– DO NOT MESS WITH THE REPOS – you can end up with a frankendebian…P.
