Hi, How to solve these errors in the photo.I cannot open any file via vlc. I am using spacefm and jwm on antix core 17.1.

no and unable to be located with the apt-get install. Do I need to edit the default repositories that came with the latest antix core 17.1

Does playing an avi file work (not as root)?

A1. no i thought vlc supports codecs automatically. how to install the codecs? apt-get install codecs?
A2. I ran spacefm as user without su or sudo then I browser to the downloaded avi in the Downloads folder and it worked.
A3. I do not know why my videos are owned by root? what do you recommend?would I end in conflict if I enable the deb-multimedia repository?

for some unknown reason the files are working from the spacefm file manager. I guess the post is closed
