::That dove definitely sticks out – (and apparently has no fear to be alongside other animals, at least other “flock types”.

::@linuxdaddy: the fact that you take photos of a wide variety of things is appealing and it makes for a nice picture collection.
As always I encourage you and others with your creativity.

::@linuxdaddy: I was able to save the wolf hound picture from yesterday, and since you came up with another good one, I also saved the little lady bug too. I’m enjoying saving these pictures on my newer laptop (even though it inexplicably can’t run antiX (though it can run Debian Bullseye and MX Linux, go figure!) The new laptop, besides running much faster, also has a significantly higher resolution screen. You’d be surprised how well even 640×360 images look; they’re surprisingly good, though the higher resolution images (if taken by a decent photographer) potentially look even sharper. You must have a decent camera, because many of your pictures look as good or better than some much higher resolution images with poorer quality photography! As I’ve said, I’m definitely a fan!
The recent stuff by ile also looks outstanding on this equipment.

::Thanks Brian,
Here is a fly on a tree branch.
Taken with a Nikon D3200 camera.
On the laptop you could look and see what the difference is between
antiX and MX Linux is kernel wise or X-windows/mesa versions.August 26, 2021 at 9:21 pm #65734Moderator

::The Nikon D3200 camera must be one of the things that helps to make your pictures look good, along with your expertise in using it and your “eye” for interesting photographic subjects and content.
Regarding the Aspire 5 laptop, I haven’t figured out what it could be yet, especially considering that images of MX Linux and Debian (Buster and Bullseye) work. antiX 19, and all test versions of antiX 21 have not worked at all and I’ve tried several of them. I’m guessing – but it’s only a guess – that it’s the new device support, possibly for the NVME SSD, that is the problem. I haven’t put a tremendous amount of time into it because I have at least two systems that definitely DO support antiX (and I have two others, for a total of four systems) that do work great with antiX, so I use antiX with those old systems, which are SLOW on most things NOT antiX, and I can use the high-powered ones on the new hardware. Also, compared to the laptops, the disk space on the SSD is smaller, so I don’t have that much space to experiment. So for now, that isn’t a high priority, given that I have plenty of usable hardware to run ALL of my favorites, including antiX.

::thanks Brian,
Here is 2 more. edited and resized on bullseye-B1 today.Overall, you’ve posted some stunning pictures! Thankyou for sharing.
I particularly loved the butterfly picture you posted of Nymphalis antiopa (#65219). known as a Camberwell Beauty here in the U.K.
It’s a rare visitor to the U.K., found mainly on the east & southeast coasts, though can turn up anywhere. Its caterpillars feed on willow.Where did you take this photo (country, location)?
As you can see from my avatar, I’m a bit of a buttterfly fan …- This reply was modified 1 year, 8 months ago by mikey777.

That was taken in Moriarty, NM USA.
They have been around a lot this summer even though we have no willow trees here.
They were feeding on Chinese Elm trees sap. -
