      Hiyall,
I’m setting up my desktop how I like. Here’s the problems so far.
      1. I get some funny small windows one of which says:”Failed to run /usr/local/bin/set_time-and_date.sh as user root.

Unable to copy the user’s Xauthorization file.”

      2. I insert a USB and the icon does not appear on the desktop.

      Please help.

Hi, Peter. Please give us a LOT more detail on these error messages. Particularly, on which program are you using, or under what circumstances you received them. (And generally, you want to ask only ONE question per thread. Otherwise things can get confusing.)

          2. I insert a USB and the icon does not appear on the desktop.

The default behavior of antiX is that a window opens displaying the contents of the inserted usb stick.

Incidentally, if you make a shortcut in rox-filer (see screenshot – that 3rd button from the left), you have quick-access to the /media/username directory, where your usb sticks will get mounted.

Did you login as root for 1?

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
