      Hi @christophe and @olsztyn,

      The author Samillion provides a template ytdlautoformat.lua that you can easily modify for your needs. It is easy to learn and modify.

      You have to create the folder ~/.config/mpv/scripts and then put that ytdlautoformat.lua file in that folder. And that is it. But you have to modify the ytdlautoformat.lua for your own needs.

      I am glad I can pass this on to other users.
      Thanks.

        I tried that script, but it threw out an error, and when the video started, it was still too big/too slow for my lil ol 32-bit netbook. 🙁

        ADDED:
        I think it might be related to my working with a stripped-down antiX-core that I made. It might be missing something that normal antiX has. I’ll try again with antiX base/full later…

        But I found this (in case anyone finds it useful):

        Add this line to ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf (If you don’t have that file, create it & add line.)

        ytdl-format=bestvideo[height<=?360][fps<=?30][vcodec!=?vp9]+bestaudio/best

        It works great! I tested it on a ytfzf file I knew was too big/slow for this computer. And it played the version that was 360p (as I need for this computer).

        If your computer is a bit better that this one, set the height value to 480 or 720 (or whatever you want).
