With nothing open, only about 200 mb of RAM is used with this OS sitting idle.
With Falkon web browser open with the three tabs i keep open set to 3 different websites, RAM usage hovered around 1.4 G.
Decided to try out Brave web browser. With it open and the same three tabs as in Falkon… RAM usage hovers around 750 mb.
I don’t mention the big name most used web browsers because they used around 2 G or a little over with same 3 tabs open.
Anyone have recommendations for other browsers to try out? So far Brave is quick and obviously uses less RAM which I do love.

::There are lots of posts in the forum about this.
Personally, all modern browsers suck. It’s up to the user to decide which one sucks less for them.
I stick with firefox-esr most of the time.
I’ve tried ‘lighter’ ones such as Palemoon and seamonkey, but I end up back with firefox-esr.
Having said that, seamonkey is my number two (of modern browsers).Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Maybe of interest to some.
For some modern browsers I see following. Box is a “modern” dual core Pentium saved from the dump after years of usage in a doctors office. I have generous 2 Gig Ram.
Without Screen Size, Window Size and a site which has constant content a comparison is not really relevant.
Anyway with the forum frontpage open along with Featherpad and conky on a 1920*1200 screenFirefox Vers 75 336 M
Palemoon Vers 28.9.1 64 Bit 295 M
Waterfox Vers 2020.04 64 Bit 407 MOpera Vers Latest 848 M Heavyweight.
Using same user.js from Ghacks for both Water and Fire foxes, ads, Topsites, Pocket, data reporting, telemetry, broadcast listener inactive, as is remote settings, until next update reactivates it once more..
Host list blocking goog and moz sites to reduce traffic to what I want.
Again as far as possible.
All hidden extensions in /(my installation location)/browser/features removed in
Firefox and Waterfox.
Firefox and Waterfox. No Script, DecentralEyes,HTTPS Everywhere, Moz LZ4Edit, Ecosia and Meta Ger search
additions.
Palemoon has far more addons, No Script, Decentral Eyes, EclipsedMoon, Cipher Fox, Pale Moon Locale Switcher,
Pure Url, Video Download Helper.
In a standard installation of firefox CPU Ram and storage usage climed ever higher, to a certain extent same
goes for Waterfox, although it felt more sprightly as installed it is somewhat heavier.Lightest Memory and disk wise is Palemoon.
I only have Opera to read a workshop manual which the other browsers are unable to parse. Without that I would dump
it immediately, memory usage is extreme in comparison..Waterfox is less of a pain to quieten than Firefox so it will stay in use, maybe I can figure out why
Memory usage is higher, work for a rainy day going through all config settings.Firefox 76 update will bring more Telemetry according to Mozilla. All is enabled by default so I will install user.js then opt out at first start with Internet disconnected then go through about:config as well as delete the saved Telemetry crap before using. Not to forget removing the hidden browser “features” which Mozilla includes to make us happy and contented. irony Off.

Waterfox was recently sold to system1 which is an advertising company. (link : https://www.waterfox.net/blog/waterfox-has-joined-system1/)
the same company behind startpage.com..
was using it for some tasks, but not anymore. -
