My bookmarks don’t work in Dillo under antiX-17_x64-full
They do work on the machine I loaded with Xfce from antiX-17_x64-core
What happens is they seem to save, but they don’t really. Then when you try to click the show bookmarks button, it looks like its going to bring them up but never does.
I copied all the code from the machine that worked via tar/zip and put it on one of the machines where it doesn’t work, but it still has the same problem.
When I run it from a terminal and click show bookmarks, on the terminal window it says Nav_open_url: new url=’dpi:/bm/’ but the bookmark file never gets displayed.
Could someone else please see if their dillow bookmarks work on their machine with the same antiX-17_x64-full version? I wounder if its due to upgrades I installed…

Might be a permissions issue? Maybe check dillo properties. Just a stab in the dark
Damn. I just checked Dillo on my 64 bit laptop. Bookmarks on taskbar won’t even open bookmarks.

::Hmmmm, it can’t Find the files, but it worked from a terminal under root….
Where to look next?
I am thinking of having Dillo as my default browser so my searches automatically sun with it, and using the big browsers only for fancy apps that need them…

::Looks like the problem might be fixed but 3.1 was never released.

::I’ll see if the testing version packages for stretch and then upload it to our stretch repo

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Hmm, I just updated to the buster Dillo 3.0.5-4 on antix17 stretch, no bookmarks are working. Must be another problem.
Like BobC mentioned with gksudo dillo the bookmarks are working.

::Solved this here by doing
sudo apt-get remove --purge dilloThen also deleting the hidden .dillo folder in home
then
sudo apt-get clean
rebooted, updated
installed dillo again, normal stable version
Bookmarks are working now.If you want to keep your old bookmarks, maybe make a backup of the bm.txt file in the hidden .dillo folder in home.
I was looking where the files are different between the working testing-box and the non working antix17, till I got the feeling turning in circles very fast,
and didn’t find anything. So I choosed this way.- This reply was modified 5 years, 3 months ago by caprea.
