I have no trouble whatsoever connecting with a browser to any site I like, including this one to make this post
However, apt cannot connect to the Debian servers, and has error 11 – “Connection refused”
Also, Eddie UI, the VPN frontend I use, inexplicably stopped working also, and cannot connect to the VPN servers
No idea where to begin troubleshooting this. Could really use some help!
Thanks
[EDIT: Could it be as simple as that the French Debian mirror is down? Is there a way I can switch over to using a nearby one instead – like Spain?]

::Yes, you can switch to other mirror sites anywhere in the world.
For Debian, you can find the mirror sites at https://www.debian.org/mirror/list
For antiX you can find mirror sites at https://antixlinux.com/download/Please note that one of the USA sites for the antiX Mirror sites, the Evowise site, is no longer available; hopefully this list will be updated soon.
Otherwise, choose mirror sites anywhere in the world. Even though I’m in the USA and usually use sites in the USA, I have found sites in the Netherlands and other countries to have pretty decent performance, so experiment to see which sites perform well in your region.--

::See if changing the mirror solves your issues; if not, write back and an expert in that area will hopefully respond.
Let us know what happens when you change repo sites please.

::For changing the mirror you can also use repo-manager
menu > control-centre > Software > Repo Manager

::Repo Manager gives: “netselect-app could not detect fastest repo”
This is on a fresh install of the OS. I even reinstalled today just to be sure.
This is a new problem on me. I don’t get why the French Debian mirror is having these problems,
and I have no idea how to replace it with another country. Repo Manager doesn’t work, and I do not know how to do it manually.[EDIT: Nevermind, I just replaced France with Spain in debian.list and debian-updates.list. You guys should really fix the Repo Manager tool though 😉 ]
Please help

This is not an antiX issue, but a debian issue that was resolved last week (in an update to net-select you cannot get because they messed up).
Good to know you could solve it, though.
After updating you will see that getting best debian mirror works again.antiX Live system enthusiast.
