      “This laptop reminds me of the bikes I build. Starts every time and runs good.” — Thinkpad T510.

      Yeah, I’ve had REALLY good success with Thinkpad models too; I still have an old one, a Thinkpad X201;
      it was a pretty good model in its day, and it also continues to run well. However this model runs
      circles around it, and I could install at least two distributions on this system in the time it takes
      to run one – my newest Linux system, HP-14, AMD Ryzen 5 5500U like the one above; this time, however,
      I am running the instance that controls my boot loader

            Is this unit a Dell Chromebook 11 3120 or something else? The Dell Chromebook 11 3120 has similar specs; it uses the Intel Celeron-N2840 Processor, though it only comes with a 16 GB SSD by default, so maybe this is another unit; there are many systems on the market that use that processor because it’s an inexpensive processor, easy to manufacture. HP also has a Chromebook 11 that uses the identical processor; many of these are built for the education sector, as were the first Chromebook models we had before we retired; now we have ones with a metal chassis and a bit more CPU power; I got pretty good deals by looking at units just before “major” sales events, such as “Black Friday”, “back to school” sales, etc. I don’t buy anything unless it’s at LEAST $80-90 under the most recent retail sales price; on at least one Black Friday deal I saved OVER $150; that was my Chromebook 715.

                  I was briefly on my HP-14 laptop this morning but I just finished a massage at a local place that handles massage and foot care. My wife is now getting a massage and we are the only customers today; we will return next week for foot care.

                  This afternoon we are hosting my son and his family including my year old granddaughter and tomorrow we’re hosting two of my wife’s brothers and their families, all of whom I have known since childhood so that will be enjoyable.

                      Running antiX 23.1 init-diversity s6-66 processes. The only thing this particular method does not include is a services manager; that’s not a problem for me; I can get at whatever I need using command-based tools.
