      @techore
      Please do not be discouraged. What you are doing takes a lot of time and patience. Beyond those two things when you actually start building your own infrastructure it gives you insight into the numerous interdependent parts that go into making a complete system, even a lightweight one.

      I know a gentleman who used to use the old Libranet distribution. About a year ago but perhaps even longer than that he resurrected an attempt to build a Libra-next type of distribution. It’s a one person effort as far as I know and it’s been quite a challenge. There are some working components but it’s long from complete. The person is building completely from scratch. Imagine how challenging it is!

      Anyway if someone with previous experiences takes a long time, just understand that it’s not easy. We have the benefits of numerous existing tools so it’s easier to build from antiX but it’s still not a trivial exercise. The more you replace the more difficult it is to complete.

      Keep the faith, the work you have done is impressive. I’m not fast at anything these days and I think that you surpass me in many ways. I hope this encourages you!

        Tried to take a snapshot all this morning on this 1TB ssd drive but it kept up locking up on me.
        Changed out drives. Put a spinner in. Grabbed probably my sysvinit antiX 23 full iso usb. Starting from scratch;
        Tried using live sub for snapshot but it will snapshot the live usb. 1TB ssd now sits on shelf.
        Got tired of unplugging and plugging in the charger to unfreeze that drive.
        Good thing I have a lot of practice. Just did about 260 updates. Got a lot of dialing in to do yet.

        256MB taken up by /home. Got more stuff to load up. I have a sata connect to usb adapter. Hopefully I can grab stuff off that 1TB ssd.
        Since this drive won’t lock up on me. Gonna be a weekend while I sort this mess out.

        I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute off it.

            This stuff is working GREAT these days! I have three versions installed and they are all terrific!

              I moved back to a USB ISO snapshot image; I created a couple of new ones the other day.
              I had some concerns about potential heat build-up; now that I’m running one after a
              quiet system, there is no excess heat, so I’m thankful of that.

              This one is the init-diversity snapshot; I took the image when I was running s6-66 so that is what is in this snapshot:

              pstree -a;pinxi -b
              s6-svscan -t 0 -L 256 /run/66/scandir/0

                I switched to my antiX 23 USB ISO snapshot image; this is the one that generates more heat when it’s running; my init-diversity image, installed or on USB, runs at 44-46 °C; this version is running at 62-64 °C; I consider that a significant difference, one that I have not noticed on my installed instances of antiX 23 or any other version.

                        I’m running the same antiX 23 instance from which the Live USB image was mastered, and apparently I did not notice the “heat”; it’s still in a usable range but it does run hotter than my other two antiX 23.1 instances and while I haven’t checked siduction for temperature I’ll have to do that.

                          For what it’s worth, I’m slightly suspicious about network chatter; maybe that contributes to the heat due to intermittent but excess network activity.

                            The good news is that though it does run hotter; it’s “normal range” remains steady within 2-3 degrees Celsius.

                                  In the report above we can clearly see that it shows the use of s6 with the 66 elements, e.g. s6-66 from “init-diversity”.
                                  By the way, just for a change of pace I am using the current version of the Seamonkey Internet Suite, SeaMonkey 2.53.18.2.
                                  Works fine with the forum. It is not fancy, it is a classic, yet it is solid and reliable.
