I am visiting the forum with my personal multi-init antiX23.1 x64 upgraded to Debian Trixie/Sid

        I changed the repo to

        ###### Debian Unstable/Sid##########
        ###### Use at your own risk! ########
        deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ unstable main contrib non-free non-free-firmware

        And did

sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade -y

Initially I tried also updating the antix.list to sid, but it bounced back with errors in *t64.
So I commented out the antix.list and focused only on the debian upgrades only.

        It certainly upgraded to Trixie/Sid.

I made a snapshot and installed on another computer.

The result, all inits runit + sysvinit + s6-rc + s6-66 + openrc still work with Trixie!

        $ cat /etc/debian_version
        trixie/sid

Experimenting with a new asset. Using liquorix to support the newer hardware. Need to work on fingerprint reader, power management, and I am sure a bunch of things I have not identified.

Yeah, BOTH the Xanmod and Liquorix kernels are really cool. I’d say that Xanmod offers more alternatives (maybe there is more than one person working on them), whereas I’m pretty sure that Damentz is the only one working on Liquorix (@h2 may know; clearly Damentz would know!) 🙂

I was using both back when antiX had NO version 6 kernels; at FIRST when we started having V6 kernels I used them exclusively; now I’m back to Liquorix kernels EXCEPT when I see a new one in our group, then I at least TEST it; I’m GLAD we have options.

I’m on my main system while I’m downloading the “anti X 23.1 x64 Full Trixie/Sid Privacy Respin” from the work of @calciumsodium.

I’ll write about it after I get a chance to test it out.

Looking forward to this latest effort; @calciumsodium has been doing an awesome job creating respins in recent weeks!

I’m now using the “anti X 23.1 x64 Full Trixie/Sid Privacy Respin” from the work of @calciumsodium. So far, routine Web browsing works just fine.

For me, about all I do is browse these days, so this image can handle that just fine. I’ve got Librewolf running and I’m using it with bookmarks imported from my main system on the hard drive on my HP-14 laptop.

I’ll run an update and see how this system updates with Sid.
There are several hundred Sid updates available; the number
of updates downloaded on my system is 694; they are all
downloaded now. Let’s see if everything works right after
they are installed – it should work unless Sid is VERY
                            unstable at the moment.

The updates went in very well. My suggestion to those installing new systems – this one and others,
is to run sudo geany /etc/locale.gen and comment out any locales you are not using; the first
update will update the locale package; if you do not edit the locale.gen file, then the update
will set up quite a few locales.

There is now a 6.9.4-1 variation of the Liquorix kernel available: vmlinuz-6.9.4-1-liquorix-amd64; that will show up on future updated installations.
