siduction is a distribution that has a rich history and the majority of contributions to this distribution and the ones preceding it are from Germany. Kanotix was the original distribution; I did see that around to some degree for many years. Sidux spun off from Kanotix and it focused on creating an easy to install and use system based on Debian Sid with focus on freely available software. aptosid followed sidux, then was replaced by siduction, which has had a fairly long run as a distribution.
Unlike our distribution, this one DOES use systemd. Just to prove that systemd works well, even though some are very opposed to its architecture, siduction is, without question, my fastest booting system and my fastest system overall. I have it on two of my systems; the Acer still won’t boot antiX but it boots siduction. On my Dell Inspiron 5558 I have MX Linux, siduction, PCLinuxOS and antiX 21 runit Base; all run well and are similar in overall performance; antiX easily consumes the fewest resources, siduction is the fastest, MX Linux and PCLinuxOS are both very easy to use, but MX Linux has a slight performance advantage over PCLinuxOS because it starts up a nominal set of default services, whereas PCLinuxOS chooses to provide a broad range of services to support a wide range of default applications.
Those are examples of four very distinct distributions; they are all very good, but have widely divergent design goals, yet all four run well even on a 6-7 year old system, and rapidly on more recent hardware.

Yes, actually I have. I kept Sparky Linux on my Dell Inspiron 5558 for at least a couple of years back when I had an 8 TB HDD. I’ve since replaced the big (capacity) HDD with a smaller, less expensive but quite responsive SSD, so I don’t have the space to mega boot anymore, though I still fit four distributions with plenty of room. I’m fairly certain I still have the Sparky Linux image on one of my removable devices; it’s a decent distribution.

You guys with 8GB RAM. Hmmm. I think I’d run with the “toram” boot code all the time if I had that. As it is, with 4, I’ve got more than I ever use.
antiX is great!Am I the outlier here with 40GB RAM?

I was having problems with my Lenovo X201 laptop when I had the dock connected.
The symptoms were that when I started the system, it would work, perhaps for 5-10
minutes, then mysteriously lose the network connection.Recently I installed EndeavourOS on this laptop and at first it appeared to work.
That made me wonder if there was a defect somewhere in our software.The longer I ran EndeavourOS, I soon discovered that it also lost connectivity.
Trying out a “process of elimination”, I suspected the unit was “heating up”,
so acting upon that hypothesis, I wondered what I could do.I lifted up the unit and blew air into the sides, hoping to clear any dust or
debris, or at least reduce it and slightly cool the system.While that appeared to work for a short time, it didn’t last.
Finally I detached the dock, and instantly the network started working again.
Realizing that this was probably the correct solution to the problem,
I inserted my antiX 21 runit Base disk, which had already been remastered
with the General settings so I could keep an entire configuration.This also worked, and continued to work.
The last time I was working on this, I ran out of time, so this has
been on my list of things to check out again, so today I booted up
EndeavourOS and again it worked fine, so I rebooted the system
with the antiX 21 runit Base remastered system.After updating the software on the USB, I installed from the updated
instance and rebooted the system and that’s what I’m using now.
It has all of my user configurations, just as I had created them, plus
it has the updates I made today.Here is the setup:

I’m using my chromebook from 2015. I followed some online instructions, and reflashed the bios, so I could totally remove chrome. Now it runs antiX. (I bought it recently just to do this.)
It has a TINY (16 GB) emmc “ssd,” so I keep my installed apps to the essentials, and run from ram (all my antiXes are “frugal/live”). It’s a pretty good little (& light!) machine.

@christophe: I’ll say one thing: your 2015 reimaged Chromebook certainly runs cooler than either of my systems!
In the case of the Dell Dimension 5558 laptop, in fairness it had been running for a reasonably long time, and I’d just gone through removing 3 old kernels and installing one other one, then I’d also used at least two or three kernels prior to obtaining those figures, plus I’d been using other distributions before booting antiX, so that’s one reason the older system showed a 60.0 CPU temperature.
This Acer Aspire hasn’t been running quite as long, but it’s been up a while already. This is my fastest system and my fastest running distribution.

Acer C710 antiX21 chromebook took a nose dive and does not boot anything presently till I dismantle it. Hoping the 16gig ssd slid out out of the sata connector.
Broke out the Dell E4310 to check up on the site. Current 64 bit Full Iso install on it. Pretty Dependable laptop. Stays in the house though.
Chromebook rides in the saddle bags and gets some rough treatment, I mount a sd card for storage on it.
Sometimes I drive a crooked road to get my mind straight.

Yesterday my antiX chromebook fell asleep & I couldn’t wake it up. I left it running, doing a remaster. When I came back, it was dead. There was nothing I could do.
I was disappointed, but thankfully I didn’t throw it out. I just stored it away.
But later, I thought I’d look on the web to see if others had similar issues.And it turns out, that’s something that the google hardware is known to do, apparently.
The suggested tapping of the “refresh” button + holding down the “power” button woke it back up!What do you know? 😉

Hmm, I guess I don’t have any very old or roughed up Chromebook systems.
My wife and I used to have two solid but slow, old Lenovo N22 Chromebook systems.
I bought an Acer Chromebook 715, she used it a few times and liked the performance, but it was too large and heavy for her so I found a smaller Acer Chromebook.
Our recent vintage computer systems are Acer models. I also have a ~2015 Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop, an old Lenovo X201 laptop, a Hewlett Packard d5000 series desktop and a Hewlett Packard Compaq rebranded laptop with a broken hinge. The Chromebook models are recent enough to continue running ChromeOS. The Acer Aspire 5 runs recent distributions so I have the Dell. Lenovo and HP models to run antiX.

I went through my three oldest systems, each of which have only antiX installed and they all work.
The most capable of the 3 systems in the corner is my Lenovo X201 laptop.
I also multi-boot on my Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop, which also has antiX 21 runit installed.
I used it earlier this week.
