Eagles are trouncing the Forty Niners.
The Niners have their 4th string quarterback, and they are hurt, trying to bring back the injured third string QB and it’s not going well.

                          Eagles 28, Forty Niners 7

I can’t help but notice that antiX uses only about 300MB of ram compared to 800MB to 1.3GB for the other systems. antiX is really light.

And it’s never good when you’re down to your fourth string quarterback!

I noticed something else too: on my newest computer, antiX uses right around 300 MB starting up, somewhere between 320-350 with a terminal and a small amount of activity, 500-600 MB with one of the lighter browsers just starting, and 1-1.2 GB with a very active browser with two or three tabs open.

However, if I run a 10-14 year old 64- bit computer, initial resource usage is in the low 100 MB range. My super old Dell desktop in the first decade of the 2000s would start up with 58-62 MB initial memory use on a 32 bit unit! I’ll have to compare my next newest system, which I have a few stats on earlier in this thread; I think the initial usage is somewhat less than the one I’m using, but only a bit less if I use older kernels and minimal resources.

I’m using Firefox, and I do have three tabs open; sure enough, usage is around 1.3 GB; this system used 330Mi at startup yesterday.

Turned off my browsers for a while and then ran the stats. Not all memory is freed from earlier work. Some of it is cached and eventually releases, and some is either lost overhead or zombie processes, not 100% certain.

Before I reopened a browser I captured this update.
