Just to notice, the number of posts in this thread exceeded 1,000… The longest thread ever.
      Remarkable popularity…

Once upon a time it was only me.
Apparently some people other than me also like to share information on their own systems. Not sure if anyone else is tracking change here or not.

A long time ago on another long lost forum we had a thread, something like —
“What are you here with and Whatever?” and it was a wide open topic when a discussion didn’t fit anywhere else.

I don’t want that here, but I don’t mind sharing this topic as long as it’s primarily about the information gathering about our systems.

I wonder if a site like LinuxQuestions has any long topics.

The Puppy Linux and Tech Forum sites might also be candidates for popular threads.

This may be familiar to several people but I am fairly certain that many people are unaware of this resource –
          https://ice-wm.org/man/icewm

It is the manual for IceWM.
          On the main page
          https://ice-wm.org/
there is an entire section entitled Documentation, which contains several links to various documentation pages.

Actually our daytime high of 76 was near perfect. I got in a nice late afternoon walk. Hopefully tomorrow will also be nice and I will plan a much longer walk!

Before I got out my system today I took a walk on the “Swamp Rabbit Trail”, a very nice paved walking and riding trail that goes right past our senior independent living facility. I walked about a mile in a southerly direction adjacent to the Furman University campus, then turned around and came back. It was between 62 and 63 degrees Fahrenheit when I left, nearly perfect for a walk, and it’s around 65 now, with an expected high today around 75, so I figured it was a good idea to get out early. It’s funny because in the North it is usually pretty cold this time of year, but with the exception of a rare storm, it’s pretty mild here, so it’s the best time to get outdoors.

The system I’m using right now requires a kernel that is several minor versions newer because it’s a 2021 model and wireless firmware and related peripheral hardware do not work unless I have a very late Version 5 or a current version 6 kernel. Now that Version 6.1 is available I only have Version 6.1 kernels on this HP-14. However, on my Dell Inspiron 5558 laptop, the Version 4.19 through Version 6.1 kernels work fine. I have a couple of older computers that work best with the last supported Version 4.19 kernel, though some of them do still work with newer kernels.
