Been busy with blown down fence. Lulus < my shop pit bull> lives in the house by day and barks all night in her large pen attached to the shop all night.. This is while I am priming the steel ketchen sink. Still have to sand it for paint job.

Body is stove up < country slang for sore bones and muscles > So I am in the easy chair on my chromebook using battery.

The day the winds blew my fence down. Telephone pole posts sunk 5 feet down with cement. Snapped the poles at the base.
It was a biblical day as far wind speeds and time duration of them.
Not sure yet if I have the energy to handle this .

We had a brief period of high winds on Friday evening but the wind speed and the duration of it all was shorter and less intense than forecast and definitely less than many other regions of the country.

With the cold, storms and snow in the north and even in California we’ve been fortunate to have zero snowfall in the 2022-2023 winter season this year. Our only rough weather was a 2-3 day period just before Christmas that brought us single digit temperatures for the first time since we moved here in 2018.

I’m using antiX 22 from the hard drive on my HP-14 as I go through the morning Email. I’m also using the antiX 6.1.11 kernel on this system, since the version 4 and 5 kernels we offer don’t fully support my wireless hardware and software (and unfortunately there are no longer any Ethernet services in my community that I’ve been able to find – apparently they disappeared over the past two years or so). That leaves me with a situation where I must have wireless network services by the time my network initializes or I have a fancy typewriter capability and not much more…

Fortunately I multi-boot, so in a pinch, I’ve learned how to retrofit kernels, kernel modules and wireless firmware from other distributions. It’s time consuming and a pretty major inconvenience, so I don’t recommend it for those who want an “install and go” solution!

Anyway, I DO have antiX working here (using my “hack”). Once antiX 23 comes with a newer kernel by default, I should be able to bring it here too.

More later today, with updated info; as of now, no packages were changed in my first update of the day.
